Don't forget The Outsiders. And not just him, but also Tom Cruise, C. Thomas Howell, Emilio Estevez, Matt Dillon, Ralph Macchio, Rob Lowe, and Diane Lane. Oh, and I almost forgot about Uncommon Valor. I loved that movie. I'd been meaning to catch the show me made last year called "The Beast&quo...

It's a settting/city done by Monte Cooke (the one he used in his homegame). The main book is 672 pages and was advertised as the "most deluxe roleplaying product ever published". Page-wise it's a tad smaller than the World's Largest Dungeon but it does live-up to the hype. It's well-bound...

The Planescape setting had a faction, the Sign of One I believe, who claimed that Powers were just very powerful individuals. Thus, anyone can become a Power - with the right ultra powerful magical items, of course. Furthermore, Athasians are atheists. Sort of. That was the Believers of the Source ...

Well, I've always been a horror fan (The Howling series, various Dracula incarnations, Frankenstein, and so on and so forth), but it was Vampire of the Mists that helped me get into Ravenloft for what little I've actually played in the setttings. I had already been into D&D for awhile (particula...

I am most pleased with the fact that while the transformations are CGI, Benicio Del Toro will be wearing makeup for the wolf form instead of the crappy CGI werewolves we had been getting in past films. This movie shows promise.

(Note: I'm trying to remember the names of gods, so I'll probably spell them incorrectly. Fair warning that a bit of deciphering might be in order.) If your game uses the undead's past faith against them instead of just any faith, then I would suggest allowing for the holy symbols from gods of the r...

Stay tuned. In a couple more chapters of my webcomic, I am the one who gets to torment Carter. Now that he's on the Astral, he's fair game for us Planescapers to torture, so he'll be guest starring in a couple episodes  Wait, you got that up and running now? I need to stay in touch. Off to...

Still easier than 3e where you'd have to template on lycanthrope to an NPC of the right levels. Heh... here I was thinking, "man, this would be so easy in 3e. Just grab an NPC of the right level and slap the template on him." :) Not having DMed in 4e (though I finally got to play it!), ma...

I've said it before and I'll say it again...that was an excellent game, both well-written by all parties and well-played. I very much look forward to reading part 2. To be honest, this has done several things for me. First, it has gotten be interested in picking up my dusty 3.5 books and refreshing ...

Every time I play a character, I think: wouldn't it be cool to have him die in a noble sacrifice? Then I play the character once or twice and get too attached to him, and keep him alive at all costs. Kudos to lostboy for doing what I never could! And that was one heck of a climax, Neo and Isy ! I'v...

I had never heard of it before right now, looks like they are trying to capitalize on the "Twilight" craze. Just makes me miss Buffy all the more. Though it is an existing book series, I'd say that the Twilight success is the very reason this thing is coming to TV. I'll stick with True Bl...

I don't know a lot about some of the other pieces you mentioned from the Realms, but I do like the notion of gargoyles/golems seeking to destroy religion and the family/cult that worship unmaking, particular to those who might harness magic/creation. In a world as ornate and, well, -gothic- as Rave...

I watch it with the wife, as she likes it better than Twilight. I like it enough, I guess. She really likes the book series that it's based on. The show differs from the books, though. Lafayette was killed in the books (it was him in the car and not the fake exorcism lady) is the one big change. Oh,...
