Re: Kargat Activity Outside Darkon
Kargat v Ge'Hennan Mongrelmen, not sure if it's in Ge'henna or not, from VRGtG stretching but von Kharkov of Valachan is/was Kargat I seem to remember references somewhere to von Kharkov having scuffles with Kargat agents attempting to operate in Valachan (but I can't remember where I might have re...

Re: Baron Lyron Evensong
What got me excited upon reading the adventure was the idea of Lyron's Study being an "escape room", for those who might not be familiar, escape rooms are RW puzzle rooms that you and your friends get locked in and by solving the puzzles, get out. (recently featured in episodes of Brookly...

Re: Masque of the Black Dome?
Some great ideas there. I haven't looked into MotRD much, but space/sci-fi horror is one of my favorite genres. The name kind of reminds me of the first roleplaying campaign I tried to run ages ago. It was a d20 Modern game that borrowed a bit from the Plane of Shadow from D&D, paranoia of John ...

Re: Tavelia
Maybe instead of looking at their dhampir side for extra power maybe you could look at the twin dynamic. Twins are creepy from the get go, and have advantages over the rest of us, secret languages being widely documented. The "twin telepathy" thing might have been enhanced by their dhampi...

Re: Tavelia
I like thekristhomas's ideas of giving her twins in order to muddle any plans she might have had to off the husband and rule as regent. Though I probably wouldn't have her curse also require she be the perfect mother. There's just too much potential for horror if her children are vulnerable to her t...

Re: CONFIRMED: Ravenloft for 5th Edition
I also like that Strahd intercepts any deity-contacting spells. I may wind up using that for every Darklord, but make it more unconscious interception on the ones it makes little sense for. The powerful ones -Strahd, Azalin - would know full well that their mastery over the land lets them mess with...

Richemulot seems like another possible setting, maybe. Lots of unoccupied real estate for possible venues, attracts all kinds, and someone's going to want a piece of the action.

Re: General Question RE: The Nightmare Lands
I remember reading a lot of good material on the Nightmare Lands in the netbooks. Here's a quick list of a few articles. The Interpretation of Dreams, Book of Shadows The Order of Twilight, Book of Shadows On Visions Induced by Coma, Undead Sea Scrolls 2003 Six Days in the Land of Nightmares, Quoth ...

No character limit great enough for how much I agree. >.<Gonzoron of the FoS wrote:It probably goes without saying, but Disney's Gargoyles series should be required viewing.
Not just for people using Gargoyles in Ravenloft/D&D. I mean for everyone. Every single person should watch it. Man, I miss that show.

Re: Headless Horseman - Brainstorming
Hazgarn- Where does the bogeyman subtype come from? Glad you like the Dread Revenant idea. Dread Revenants are rather... focused. The Headless Horseman is usually depicted as indiscriminate. Bogeymen are described in Dark Tales & Disturbing Legends . They're a type of fey unique to Ravenloft. T...

Re: Headless Horseman - Brainstorming
Walking Dead- Another really good one. This would have to be an unusually powerful and old one. Rather unique. But it could definitely work. He wouldn't suit as an obedient dead. Hungry dead sounds unlikely, unless he gains subsistence from decapitating people somehow. This leaves the third kind (w...

Re: Headless Horseman - Brainstorming
I'd say he makes the most sense as fey. I'm somewhat surprised no one has brought up the bogeyman subtype specifically. The Horseman seems like he'd fit well amongst their number.
