I have now run 2 different modules twice each using a chunk of the 4e Ravenloft considerations.

Character creation for the third bout of each is likely to come in the next couple weeks after midterms wrap up.

Players comments along with mine still in collation.

Of course deception is always one way around it. Given the orientation on family beliefs and superstition the Vistani hold, it can be explained away within reason by reaching into the past. "My mother always told me never trust women with red hair" "On the last Winter morning this col...

Enigmas was found primarily in Mage: The Ascension. Honestly the skill was a crutch that many players relied upon to get them out of RPing and problem solving on their own. Investigation, Awareness and Occult could all be used to come out to a similar effect, it just required your players to be more...

One thing I have done for players that have wanted to be full blooded Vistani is to have them be mortu, but use the stats and abilities of the Half-Vistani to represent them still having an attachment to their kind. The stat modifiers of full blooded alone are ridiculous, before adding in the extra ...

"That guy that looks like Baron Samedi. He's a bad guy, right?"
"He's the dreadlord of the domain"
"That's a bad thing, right?"
"Depends with him -- are you alive or dead?"
"..."
"Actually nevermind. It's a bad thing either way."

I'd also be up for any that are more problem solving or use your brain adventures, eg Howls in the Night/Hour of the Knife motif, but I haven't DMd either of them before :?

Thoughts of Darkness is one that really needs to be redone, Nikolas. I do love thoughts of darkness, but every time I have run it, regardless of edition, its clocked in at like 5-6 hours. The repetitive "OMG its the half-vistani slave driver get him -- Oh look he's got away but left goons to c...

Favourite Modules and 4e Considerations

As some of you may know I am crunching my way through aspects of Ravenloft and 4E, and I intend on running several different modules at the annual local gaming convention. Considering two main factors: i) The quality and enjoyment level of the module, and ii) The ease of conversion of monsters and a...

Ain't nobody else can make that claim. As for leaving the core. Well a giant brain could have decided to do *that* I am back after resolving computer issues (Windows can DIAF), so hi everyone. The two weeks of back comics was a nice good read. More than one person around my local gaming/s...

So, if no one can confirm the comic is over, can they at least confirm the Phantom is alive , and well? :( Dead tired maybe. Nick is quite alive and well, I see him with regularity around the University now. On top of it being his senior year(s) in school not unlike my own, he's managed to find a w...

Since a number of people here are Canadian, I was just wondering if anyone in southern Ontario knew of some stores with used gaming books that might have some older AD&D 2E Ravenloft kicking around. I am really hesitant about buying things without being able to see it now after a boxed set that ...

In 4E, the improve/worsen of conditions like diseases are perhaps the greatest mechanical implementation of the system aside from combat.

If I were to DM a game where poisons were prevalent I would use a track like this so that poisons weren't just one save to throw off effects.
