Re: Drawing a Map

The second one certainly looks better. These maps are awesome!

The Thaani?

A friend of mine wishes to make a character from Barovia, and wants to know more about the Thaani people. I've got nearly every Ravenloft book under the sun, and I can't find much info on them at all. I've ctrl+f'd my way through the Kargatane PDFs to no avail, not to mention tried out the Ravenloft...

Re: Wanted: Information on Ezra!

Well, the BoS article remains the best source. A lot of it has been worked into Canon in the Gazetteer series and other Ravenloft 3E books. There's some more questionable stuff about Ezra in Heroes of Light too. Glad that the RL catalogue has remained helpful, but it's been mostly superseded by Mis...

Wanted: Information on Ezra!

Hello! I'm running a new campaign over instant-messenger with just a friend and myself (more story-oriented than dice-chucking, for sure), and I wanted to know where I could find as much information as possible on Ezra. Seeing as my character is going to be a very devoted cleric of said religion...w...

Running a Game Online?

I've been considering running a Ravenloft campaign with 3.0 rules online with a group of friends over something like AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) or the like. I would, naturally, prefer to run a game in meat-space, but most of my friends here that game simply aren't into anything beyond hack-and-slas...

I tend to like to leave the meeting to the PCs, either encouraging them to know each other through backgrounds, or find ways to have them meet-up. Otherwise, just having them hired or in the right place at the wrong time works. It's alot of work for something that really before the actual adventure...

Any number of ways this could go... In my mind, the easiest is to give them all the same goal, though they don't know it. Detective Horror Mode: Ranger and Druid both hunting the same werewolf (or wolfwere) for their own purposes. Maybe it's the creature that killed their folks, maybe not, dependin...

Wow... That's a problem indeed. What levels are they starting at? When I have campaigns start at 3-4 level, the PCs are just "hired" together to do a couple of jobs, like say traversing a dangerous part of Kartakass in your case or just slaying a certain werewolf/wolfwere that annoyed som...

Getting the party together

I'm coming here with what I'm sure is a common question that ya'll have been asked a billion times, but it's something I always have trouble with: How to get the party together. I'm starting up a Ravenloft game and I'm going to kick things off in Kartakass because: 1. It's my favorite realm, and Har...

Re: Player's Handbook 2 Druid - Weakness?

A player of mine wants to play a druid. [...] I want the weakness to be to be fair and balanced Maybe he can only shapechange into a FOX? ;) ... Sorry, couldn't resist :) I actually thought about that while I was typing. And I was debating on whether to use the weaknesses at all, but I think ...

Any involunary shape change in Ravenloft is accompanied by 'fluffy' wrenching pain as bones pop and sinews tear. Extend that to the shape changing of the Druid in question and adds some 'crunch' to it. Alternatively, give him a trigger condition, say the full moon, and have him involuntary change u...

Player's Handbook 2 Druid - Weakness?

I'm going to be starting a Ravenloft campaign soon and I have a quick question: A player of mine wants to play a druid. This is all well and good, but he wants to play the druid described in the Player's Handbook 2 (3.5) that instead of having an animal companion can shape shift right out of the gat...
