Random question thread.

Just thought I would start a random question thread. Here's a few of mine- Who is Sheriff Strand? Does Barovia have any other major towns? What happened to Strands other relatives? What happened to the drow settlements from 2ed? Does Ravenloft have a underdark? Do worshippers of devils and demons ma...

I actually started using the Storyteller System, specifically from Vampire: the Dark Ages , but adapting the various character types in the old WoD to the era-[/i]Mage:the Sorceror's Crusade has been most helpful, and it is sad that no Changeling rules from the era when Faerie walked free ever made...

I know Chinese legends about Leaping Vampires claims the creatures tended to hop and leap rather than walk-Chinese theories on rigor mortis and such-but the point regarding zombies is well-taken. And while I must offer kudos to the person crediting the modern zombie to H.P.Lovecraft, I must also he...

Parts 3-6: Freddy becomes a Batman villain. You're closer than you think. I've often said on comic boards that movie killers like Freddy are (for lack of better terms) The super-villains without the existence of the super-heroes. Without these 'counter characters' if you will, these killers just la...

Most attribute 28 Days Later as the first fast moving zombies. Incorrect. Others attribute the first fast zombies to Return Of The Living Dead. Also incorrect. The classic weird tale Herbert West Reanimator had the first fast moving AND leaping zombies. Also the first cannibalistic zombies. (Cue the...

Why would you need jumping zombies? Traditionally in D&D and cinema they can barely walk let alone leap.

Given the WOW style of 4ed I believe the board game may be the only future plans for any new official Ravenloft products.

Dragonlance was once the breadwinner for crying out loud and they abandoned it. What hope does Ravenloft, the red headed step child of D&D, have for new releases?

When it comes to remakes people only seem to remember the crap. A remake can be pure gold. The 1990 remake of Night Of The Living Dead Amen to that! That being said, I was never that much of a fan of the franchise. In fact I found Freddy Versus Jason the most enjoyable of all. Love that flick. Here...

I think you need to be aware that Strahd is a Eastern nobleman-and Eastern Europe and Western Europe had vastly differing concepts of nobility. If you touched Strahd's people, even one under sentence of death by Strahd, you would be stepping on his toes, and then he'd have to land on you with both ...

http://www.talesofterror.net/section01-arcaneartefacts.html That is the arcane artifacts area of Tales Of Terror. Although written for a modern horror campaign it can easily modified for Ravenloft. My idea. The night after the grand opening, two guards are found ripped apart and a massive marble ido...
