Re: 3.X Grand Monster Index

Hengeyokai was missed from OA. (it's listed as an appropriate monster in Ravenloft Monstrous Compendium III) Ah, shoot, you're right. Well, I did say I would end up updating it again at some point. Are you accepting entries from module random encounter tables and native monster sidebars from the ga...

Re: 3.X Grand Monster Index

I'll second the wow sentiments. Btw, what was your criterion on what made a creature suitable for Ravenloft or not? First, I went off of official lists from things like the Realm of Terror "black box", the Monstrous Compendiums, and the Ravenloft Dungeon Master's Guide; then unofficial st...

Re: 3.X Grand Monster Index

So this list is mostly done. It's not completely done because there are a few 3.X books that are out of print and not available digitally, so until I can track them down, this is the list as it is so far. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/76420455/Ravenloft%20Monster%203e%20List%20v1.pdf I will ev...

Re: Ravenloft/Magic: the Gathering (Updated 18 October 2016)

I think Camille should have infect instead of wither. That way, she can give players poison counters. Malken would best be served by using the transform ability rather than an enchantment, such as this card from Innistrad: http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=221209 (alth...

I thought that was pretty cool, and perhaps a hint of the next campaign setting to come back.

Re: Curse of Strahd: Opinions?

Very cool write up Hell Born. Thanks! I can see that my prediction was correct; this is "Expedition to Castle Ravenloft" for 5E. Not that there is anything wrong with that; I just figured this was not going to be a guide to the campaign setting as a whole. Some interesting changes made. N...

Sure, a half-silat would be a fine alternative, I think. :)

Re: I updated Al Kathos

Actually, I was doing some thinking on that, I believe I might have a solution that can work that won't upend everything you came up with yet still stays faithful to Al-Qadim. The darklord should actually be a Silat: http://www.lomion.de/cmm/silat.php (note their description: "giant female huma...

Re: African Core

The only issue I have is that you only have one monster darklord. I think you can slip in a wereleopard and Terkow (African vampire) in there for the others.

Re: I updated Al Kathos

Bluebomber4evr, I get a warning of an unsafe site from my anti-virus when I click on a weblink to that al-qadim.com website. What browser and anti-virus are you using? I've visited it with Chrome and Firefox, and I use MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware and Microsoft Security Essentials and I experience no...

Re: I updated Al Kathos

Okay, here's the list of Al-Qadim monsters suitable for the Ravenloft setting. ENWorld had a bunch of 3rd edition conversions on their Creature Catalogue site, but it's apparently down right now. I was able to find the 2nd edition stats, however. First of all, I recommend the free download of The Ne...

Re: I updated Al Kathos

The 2e Al-Qadim monsters have been converted to 3e for free on the Al-Qadim fansite I linked to earlier and on ENWorld. Completely legal and at no cost to you. I'll throw up some links to specific conversions when I get home. As for the number, 60 monsters is more than enough for a single domain. Yo...

Re: I updated Al Kathos

I'm not trying to be belligerent, honestly. I'm sorry if it came off that way, but honestly I'm a little baffled that I'm being interpreted that way These are the specific bits that (to me, at least) came off as unnecessarily harsh: Well you added the homebrew tags this time, at least. Satyrs are i...

Re: I updated Al Kathos

I'm sure Arab mythos has more than genies but the fact remains the vast majority of the D&D monsters are European derived or totally made up. Ghosts are common in virtually all human cultures I can think of. Death is the common lot of humanity after all. In a sense demons are too if you conside...
