The D-plant in horrors harvest was a 2ed one.
Stats here
It sucks out the life force/soul remotely, and if the pod is destroyed the life force returns to the victim. The podlings are dominated people, not clones.

Re: The War in the Core
The suggested stockpiling of Vistani potion could only go so far, so I'm suggesting that the Vaasi would attempt to bypass the whole valley by heading north into the forested valley that leads to Lake Zarovich, cross the lake and take Vallaki. This seems to me to be quite the military task, but if ...

Re: Should I allow Identify Spell?
And to be fair, I think these strategies can be used a short number of times, before it becomes somewhat strange that all monsters / encounters use the same tactics against this light spell. A fair point. *thinks* An alternative method may be fudged using the description of the spell. It states in ...

Re: Should I allow Identify Spell?
This won't work with continual light/continual flame, as it does not burn or produce heat. It only creates light. My bad, I didn't phrase that properly. Apologies  A continual light/flame wont burn off oxygen as you say, but I meant that the DSG and WSG describe an assortment of 'environmenta...

Re: Should I allow Identify Spell?
I must disagree with continual light though. Sure it is usefull, but it also has its downsides. Remember the light 'range' is 120', but the light doesn't stop there. Outside that range the PC's can't see anything. Like sitting next to a campfire you can see things in the range of illumination, but o...

Re: Help Campaign Building - GC, VR Bleak House and more!
How should I give them that info? You don't. They can wander around Castle Avernus in 'Shadows' and find the book. So with a bit of tinkering... Pc1: Hey look a book of names Pc2: Huh, our names are in this book Pc3: But why are out names crossed out? Pc1: Maybe it's a hit list? Pc3: No. ...

Re: Help Campaign Building - GC, VR Bleak House and more!
Just 2 problems: My PC actually are in Invidia, One of them is born in it, and all the other went there for different reasons. I need an excuses to bring them to Azzy. I could (and I will) move the campaign to other domains, but i think that my PC will always try to come back to Invidia, since all ...

Re: Help Campaign Building - GC, VR Bleak House and more!
MMMMH... i still have this BIG problem about how to justify the fact that pass almost an year from an adventure to the other... how can i explain this to my players? Thinking a bit maybe this thought (please ignore the squeaking, the wheels aren't as well oiled as they used to be :P ), it may requi...

Re: Help Campaign Building - GC, VR Bleak House and more!
Leave it to me to focus on the minute detail when it comes to Dragon and Dungeon magazines, but are you talking about the Dungeon magazine adventure (Cat of Felovic in issue 50) or is there a Dragon magazine one? Which Dragon magazine issue (best of your knowledge)? Ack my bad. I meant Dungeon. Apo...

Re: Do the Dark Powers love Cormyr for some reason?
Was Cormyr simply better fleshed out than the rest of the FR at that time by adventures etc.? The first FR box only came out in 1987 and was in 1990 still relatively sparsely described. There were other things occuring as well. Gygax left TSR in 1985, and Greyhawke (his world) became a bit of a leg...

Re: Help Campaign Building - GC, VR Bleak House and more!
When i read your Idea it looks like a ciclic events, in which the player are ported back in time every time the Doomsday device explode. It was cyclical. Remember the old phrase 'those who forget history are doomed to repeat it'? After we agreed to end the campaign - the DM told us that the origina...

Re: Help Campaign Building - GC, VR Bleak House and more!
Well, this topic reminded me of when our party did the Grand Tour Conjunction many years back. So I decided to crawl out form lurking under the forums and throw in my 2cp. Our GTC group while not as ambitious as covering all the way to the Grim Harvest, covered the timeline from 528 (Ravenloft I6) t...
