Outsiders in Ravenloft

Fiends and Celestials have been proven to cause a twisting/reailty wrinkle. Does this extend to all beings of the outplanes if they enter Ravenloft. We've seen that beings from the Inner Planes like elementals can be twisted by the Land of Mists into Blood, Grave, Mist, and Pyre, so what would happe...

Re: Communication between clergy in & a god outside of Raven

Perhaps the Dark Powers acts as a different sort of trap depending on who it traps. For mortals, as well as lesser fiends and celestials, its like a finger trap, or bear trap. Easy to get in, almost impossible to get out. For gods its the reverse, with the dark powers having a veil to keep them from...

Re: New Shades are gathering...

Melphan the Fractured was a mortal worshipper of the Demon Prince Jubilex. Upon sacrificing his friends and family to his amorphous lord, he was taken by the dark powers. Now transformed into a great Ooze, his mind is shattered in multiple pieces spread across many different slimes, which he can ne...

Re: New Shades are gathering...

Asking for your advice again: I want to make of a domain of a large, dark city, where everyone, with no exception, is a monster of some kind: vampires, werebeasts, hags, demons, rakshasas etc. Who or what can be the darklord of such domain (undoubtedly he must be quite powerful), and what could be ...

Re: Quoth the Raven #26 - submissions open

Would a Lamordian lightning-revenant count, cause I'm toying around with that idea.
Also, I know theres a formatting guide for submissions, but I just want clarification: Make it as simple as possible but follow the capitalization/spell italization guide is the key?

Re: Communication between clergy in & a god outside of Raven

I always figured that the gods just couldn't get involved with the lands of mist, period. I've always seen the idea of the Unspoken Pact as being just speculation by the few mortals who know about the demiplane. I figure it lends more to the mystic and menace of the Dark Powers by making it that the...

Running Dragonheist in Ravenloft

Due to the high magic nature of the rest of DnD, I think there are alot of adventures you could adapt from one setting to Ravenloft. Easiest would be Dragon Heist, just replacing Waterdeep with Port Lucine. Manshoon and the Zhentarum could be replaced by the Fraternity of Shadows wanting to expand t...

Re: Har'akir and Amber Waste changes

I like Har'Akir. It really feels like playing in Universal Pictures "The Mummy", exploring the not quite dead ruins of a once great land, of dealing with peoples who have long since passed their golden age and now live humbly in the shadow of their once great land, regarding the past in a ...

Re: New Shades are gathering...

Another one Witch's Bane is a Fire Elemental who has made a small niche for itself in Tepest. Installing itself in a heavily Inquisition managed city, its appearance during a witch burning was seen as sign of Belenus's favor, and so the fire is tended to, fueling furnaces and witch pyres alike. Bein...

Figure I could lend an idea Helg'Vir, the Primative Helg'Vir, a giant from Eberron, was once one of the greatest mind of Xen'drik. An artificer of high renowned, his creativity was only matched by his cruelty to his elven slaves, engaging in acts of brutality which gave even his fellow slave lords p...

Re: Ravenloft: Strahd's Possession portrait of Strahd

Sad all we got from Ravenloft in terms of games was Strahd's Possesion and Stone Prophet. They're both good, but how amazing would it be to have an isometric top-down Ravenloft game, like the Baldur's Gate games?
