Re: Quoth the Raven #30 reaction thread.
Fantastic work this year with the Masquerade Article Mephisto. Its little flavor things like that, with named pcs and rumors to put in any event, and a way to keep track of them, the nitty-gritty part of storytelling that means so much.

Re: Quoth the Raven #30 reaction thread.
I love the 6-characters of Ill Repute article. At first I thought it would be simply a collection of villains, but it took me till the second one to realize it was about con-men, traveling sales, ect. As I understand it, each is also a reference: Dr. Garricalo: Ghostbusters. Obviously. Love it! Mr G...

Re: Children of the Night: Giants
I may have found a real-life example of the Falkovnian Giant Soldiers: The Potsdam Giants , Fredrick the Great's Dad (also named Fredrick) regiment of 'giant soldiers' (a little bit over 6ft which was impressive at the time), and was over time filled with giants sent over from other monarchs such as...

Re: Children of the Night: Giants
Little late on this (since submissions for QtR are due tomorrow), but another potential giant: The Davana, a type of asura descended from the primordial goddess Danu and an ancient sage Kashyapa, they are said to have been exiled from the world by the devas, and have hated them ever since. They are ...

Re: Children of the Night: Giants
Another idea is the Nephilim of Judeaic myth. The supposed half human children of angels (or the children of Cain in some stories). Usually depicted as violent dull giants who ruled the earth just before the flood, monstrous half-divines well fit the gothic tone of Ravenloft. Perhaps this is a suppo...

Re: Falk-fury rages on!
If I recall correctly, Drakov is either from Thenol or was stationed there. Ιt was written that he and his group of mercenaries were often employd by the fanatics of Hith in Thenol. Thenol is a human theocracy not under the thrall of minotaurs, although later (after Drakov arrived in Ravenloft), it...

Re: "Five Things Every Barovian Knows: ..."
I've already shared the Google link, but just for feedback heres the opinions between faiths for some of the minor faiths of the Mists: The Divinity of Mankind: Ezran Faith: Such a quandary: A faith that is both highly splintered, yet highly dogmatic. That is the worst that can be said about them ho...

Slightly off topic, but does anyone remember that 'Van Richten's Lost Arsenal' article from QtR 2? Cause those were neat.

I've made a google doc containing both the 5-things ideas I've done so far as well as the views of the faiths in the Mists. Please fell free to view and comment: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JmthDpQhbW4cb9WvTNnITjSgewwJB7Og/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=102376675819507285379&rtpof=true&sd...

Re: Inajira's entry in Roots of Evil
Never really used him before (haven't really played, more of a settings nerd), but how he uses it would depend on how you want to play up his ability to warp the Mists. Cause while he has no land-based powers thanks to his efforts not to get bound to the mists, he still has some ability to warp his ...

Re: Falk-fury rages on!
Considering how horrible a death impailment is, and how death curses have power in Ravenloft, would it be likely then that either Falkovnia and especially Lekar is just plagued by ghosts and curses? And would this justify the existance of some sort of ghost/curse-busters? It even adds the misery: su...

Re: "Five Things Every Barovian Knows: ..."
For the list, I've taken some inspiration from Gwenfloor so for every few domains, I will include not just the domain, but also the non-human perspective from that domain (to give the non-human perspective of 5-things, but with some flavor for that nation), and could use some suggestons for others i...

For things hidden, what about a Races of the Mists: Kobolds/Goblins? Fleshing out the kobolds without many dragons to serve, and their unique status in Falkovnia could prove to be a fun exercise. And they like the goblins like the dark, hidden places of the world.

Re: "Five Things Every Barovian Knows: ..."
As someone new to this whole thing what is the tie between Lamordia and whaling? I remember it being mentioned that they have a fishing industry alongside Mordent. Considering their nordic inspirations (Sweden/Norway) and the Moby-Dick theme of deranged obsession (much like Mordenheim himself tryin...
