Re: Weird Headcanons Thread

I've given several of the domains specific hobbies.

I have the Invidians, thanks to their winding river, love to fish. More acturally, they love to talk about fishing, and the best way to get an Invidian to talk to you (if only so they can insult you and show off what they know) is to fish in front ...

Re: Weird Headcanons Thread

Continuing from Borca, and mainly just from a vague notion, what if they have a good culture of pig-breeding, oddly enough from stock from Markovia, back when it was next to Dorvinia. Hardy enough to eat the often poisonous crops which spread through the land.

Re: Weird Headcanons Thread

I have the Falkovnian peasants consider vinegar an artform, much like more civilized realms do wine-making, with its anti-septic qualities being the closest thing the Falkovnian cities and major towns have to public sanitation. Specific types are made for specific reasons, from cleaning clothes to ...

Re: Weird Headcanons Thread

Markov likes opera. He uses magical sound recorders from Liffe to listen to it, often while he "operates"

I had a similar idea, with him having a prototype phonautograph (sound recording), which he uses to record music, the sounds of nature, his own musing (I like to imagine he rambles to his ...

Re: Weird Headcanons Thread

I've had the idea that Ivana Boritsi has published several books on horticulture under various pseudonyms. Don't know why, just seems a way to flesh out her character by giving her a hobby.

Re: Sports? Olympics?

Alot of old medeval sports were mostly just fighting (Stalin's hometown famously had a holiday where everyone, even the children, would just have a giant brawl with a drunk-priest as the referee). Venice had the bridge-battles where dueling gangs of working-class men would brawl on the bridges ...

WDYM by 'connection to the Plane of Shadows'?
Isn't Ravenloft as whole connected to it?
I suppose I mean 'has deeper connection to the Plane of Shadows', like how the ghostly-ness of Mordent gives it more connection to the Etheral Plane.

Re: To reach the Shadow Rift

I like emphasising the potential connection between Falkovnia and the Plane of Shadows (native monsters include shadows, greater shadows, shadow unicorns, shadow fiends, and several shadow fey; has the largest border with the Shadow Rift out of any domain; literally a headquarters of the Fraternity ...

Vague idea but what about one of those Zoetrope toys, like the galloping horse, but it 'summons' the image via Shadow Conjuration?

Limited to the Van-Richten's Guide, we would need Ancient Dead, Liches, Witches/Hags, Vistani, Fey/Shadow Fey, and Mist-Creatures.
Technically we already did Fey with the old Fair-Folk thread, though the project to give them stats (if not adventures) never really got to far.

Mirrors of Respiro
The mirror craftsman Respiro is well regarded amoung the vampire elite of Lazendrak, for his custom-made mirrors which, thanks to intricate enchantments, can actually reflect a vampire, something though impossible. Little do they suspect this supposed egalitarian and vampire ...

Re: First debate of 2025 - AI image or not ?

So long as its not used for making money, or deliberately snubbing artists who take requests, I figure its fine. I'll never really respect it, but when one doesn't have art skills, nor the money or wilingness to pay a real artist its a fun toy that fills a minor need.

Can we make it flexible by having dust be a theme of the item (cause its hard to make dust an item)?
