I appreciate that Morguhald has a secret... but it's not a evil secret.

Mephisto of the FoS wrote: Mon Apr 15, 2024 6:59 am Well it is a nice scenario to find his body in the woods (or maybe he recently died from White Fever) and while investigating his death they learn about the claim he made.
Alternatively, Alskel's odds of survival might also improve if a band of adventurers gets involved.

Re: Community Idea: Settlements!

I don't disagree with any of what you said, Speedy, but none of that changes the likelihood that Meph is right. It's just a matter of when the countdown begins in earnest.

Klippekant a hamlet in Valachan One of many hamlets scattered throughout Valachan, Klippekant is notable for two reasons. First, much of the hamlet is built upon the top, bottom, and middle of a steep ravine. From a building which overhangs the edge, a wooden platform may be lowered from the buildi...

Re: Ideal Ravenloft Videogame

Something where you play as a Vistani caravan or wagon like Oregon Trail would be a fun phone game. Maybe you pick up not quests so much as jobs or reasons to go here or there so it is not one linear trip every time. I would totally play "Ravenloft Trail". At least until the 27459th time ...

As long as you use it for a different campaign each time, I don't see the problem.
Once per campaign strikes me as not too often. :)

Flumphs and flail snails. I mean, they're not gothic horror. They're more game design horror. But seriously, though. Flumphs and flail snails!

Re: Ways of Getting Around Canon...

In the case of Darkon, perhaps they had some inkling of the claiming mechanic beforehand and had a charm or talisman that prevented that? Just for the record, I really like the idea of a talisman that delays the memory-rewrite effect. Especially if it gives warning as its protection starts to fade,...

Re: Net canon settlements

A month ago (maybe two), I promised Speedwagon that I would add another settlement to his similar thread (https://fraternityofshadows.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11291), and I have finally done so. Although you requested net-canon sources, I thought a cross-reference to that thread of homebrew settlem...

Re: Quoth the Raven #30 reaction thread.

Alright, everyone. I had to take a break from reviews to deal with real life for a bit, but now I have some spare time to return and finish the job... I hope you've got that real life thing subdued, at least for a little while. Rest assured that I'm always glad for your feedback, regardless of any ...

Re: Happy New Year

Anyways is there more than one calendar in Ravenloft? Probably at least as many calendars as there are homeworlds. For example, domains drawn from the Forgotten Realms probably use the Dale Reckoning, and the Shadowborn Cluster might count dates from the founding of the Great Kingdom. However, my i...

If you don't mind my asking, what did you think of the various Prestige classes in the DM's appendix, or the Viejos Sagrados -group? First of all, my apologies for taking so long to respond to your request. The end of the year was a mad scramble, and since then I've been sloughing along with Very L...
