The Noble Dead

Has anyone here read any of The Noble Dead series by Barb & J.C. Hendee? They are horror-fantasy novels that were out most of the decade, but I didn't hear about until last year. The very basic gist is: The main character is a dhampir who doesn't realize she's a dhampir. She has joined forces wi...

Question about converting material

I am in the process of converting Ravenloft to Savage Worlds, because I love the setting but not the D&D system (any of them, anymore). As well, I am posting the conversions, piecemeal at present, on my blog. Eventually, I plan to get to most (if not all) of the material developed by the FoS, fo...

Has anyone ever thought of using a dragon in Ravenloft as a "false god"? In that, a dragon masquerades as a protective spirit of some sort, promising various boons in return for offerings of treasure and or human sacrifices? Ya know, that sounds tremendous. I may swipe this for my game, i...

Best Timeline Available

Pretty much as it says...can anyone point me to the best timeline available (assuming there is one) for the Ravenloft modules and projects? If that timeline also includes projects created by this community and available at this site, I have no problems with that.

Thanks for any help.

* Near the road, wolves or wild dogs begin barking and howling. An awful sound of gnashing, ripping and tearing comes moments later. If the party investigates, they find the ripped and torn carcasses of the pack, and a lone rabbit, half covered in blood, staring at them before hopping off. * The veg...

* The party is heading down a road in a more peaceful area. They see a guard post up ahead. Their horses begin to act skittish. Upon investigating the post they see bloody signs of conflict, but no bodies and no tracks. * While traveling on the road in the dark, the PCs hear the sounds of a child cr...

Yay!

Already bookmarked. You guys rock.

Hopefully I will be running Ravenloft again sometime in 2010, so everything helps.

What I am stunned tremndously by here is that no one has thought to suggest Savage Worlds! Combat that can be remarkably deadly and leave permenant injuries? CHECK! Built-in horror and fear rules? CHECK! System designed to make characters balanced and useful at any level of power? CHECK! System let...

Oh! Me! Me!

Last night I got hard at work FINALLY converting Ravenloft to Savage Worlds, as I have a friend that likes the setting, I just don't want to run it in any version of D&D.

And, it is worth mentioning, that tracking down a copy somewhere won't put any money in WotC's coffers, as their money was made on that copy a long time ago.

No, the ONLY further revenue they were going to get was going to be from PDFs.

I bought this myself when it came out, as I'm a big enough wrestling guy that I WAS a wrestler for a couple of years up until this past February...it's a really fun system...a really well done implementation of d20, which isn't a surprise if you follow game designers at all, and look at the credits ...

I keep telling myself I'm going to finish converting Ravenloft to Unisystem. I'm leaning towards a hybrid Classic/Cinematic...one that removes Endurance and Essence (I am completely in love with the Buffy magic system) as well as removes (or at least depowers) Drama points. Scratch that. I am offic...
