Re: A Twist in the Mist: an M Night Shayamalan spin on Raven

Oh yes, he specializes in nested illusions. Generations of DM's have delighted in pulled ye olde false escape from Scaena. His 2e stats are as a 3rd level illusionist. (plus darklord-enhanced illusion powers). So, technically yes, he's a spellcaster, but that class would probably be chang...

Re: A Twist in the Mist: an M Night Shayamalan spin on Raven

You bring up some good points, and that also leads to a question I have. It's been quite awhile since I've read up on Juste, especially since I don't have the 2e book where he was originally detailed. Can he still throw more illusions at them once the party knows that it's all fake? Certainly after ...

Re: A Twist in the Mist: an M Night Shayamalan spin on Raven

I have thought about doing something like this to fill in the details of the history of a location or an 'older' adventure that the players cannot canonically be a part of (post grand conjunction, etc.). I do like the idea of screwing with the players (mine sound a lot like yours) and creating fals...

Re: A Twist in the Mist: an M Night Shayamalan spin on Raven

Apologies for the double post. While it doesn't seem to be against forum rules, I know it's not really kosher. But I thought it better to put this here instead of editing it into the original post. One main reason I want to explore this idea is because I've found that the unknown is very important w...

A Twist in the Mist: an M Night Shayamalan spin on Ravenloft

Hi! I haven't been back to FoS in quite awhile since I've not been gaming much, and not in the Land of Mists when I do. But today I had an idea about Ravenloft that I'd like to explore, perhaps even turn into a campaign down the line. I haven't run RL in many years, and haven't kept up with any deve...

Granted! He lies repeatedly to your face, and his nose stabs you in the eye.

I wish nobody would ever steal my parking space.

That is pretty cool. It incorporates some ideas I had for the eventual gaming table I want to have someday, as well as some things I hadn't thought of before, like pull-out cup holders and a PA system for voice effects.

Thanks for posting the link!

Granted! The entire population of the United States is driven mad by exposure to things they are not meant to know, and as one, check themselves into mental institutions, where they receive full medical care.

I wish to have more wishes.

I don't know what they were thinking with Satanic Rites either. Honestly, just reading the description on the back of the DVD case, the only way it could possibly be any good was in that "so bad it's good" sort of way. As far as not having much dialogue, Lee isn't the only Dracula to have ...

I for one love the idea, because the concept of entering the land of the dead and making a deal with Death pops up everywhere from Greek mythology (in the story of Orpheus) to Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey . So why not Ravenloft? Besides, Necropolis is pretty difficult to use in too many adventures, ...

Either that or the other way around. I had thought they started dating and married after that movie, but I could be wrong.

None of the characters have any real depth, the plot is thin as water, and the whole movie relies more on gratuitous nudity and drug humor than anything else. Worse still is that it's PREDICTABLE when the inevitable killings happen. That almost sounds like you're describing a Friday the 13th movie....

I read the wikipedia article. The original trilogy doesn't sound that bad, though certainly not amazing. It looks like it's all downhill from there, though.

I don't see how it could be any worse than, or even as bad as, Twilight.
