The Horror of ROLF!
Hi everyone! For those who might not remember/know, I worked on Ravenloft during the AD&D2 days. I'm also a big fan of classic horror films from Universal and Hammer, so when my co-designer on the ROLF! game line either suggests or approves ideas for someting involving werewolves, vampires, mumm...

'Shadows of Dreams' book from NUELOW Games
Hi everyone... I just wanted to stop by and mention the latest book I've edited for NUELOW Games, because I think it might have material some of you will find inspirational and useful in creating your RL games. Shadows of Dreams is a richly illustrated, small collection of poetry and verse by the gr...

Something of interest if you're using a d20 OGL variant
Or even gold old D&D Third Edition (inclucing 3.5)... Here's a little modfication that uses Feats to bring more flexibility to the game's magic system as far as classes go. Click here to go to RPGNow to check out a preview, or to get your own copy. And please let me know what you think. (This is...

Re: Single Sheet Horror
A few suggestions/questions: I think I like "One Die Horror" better than "One Sheet Horror" as far as titles go. I think you need to add paragraph headers. How much Life do monsters have? As in... should there be a couple of examples like "a mummy has 4 points of life but a ...

ROLF!: The Temp of Frankenstein (the latest from NUELOW)
Just thought I'd let everyone know that the latest ROLF! supplement is another horror-themed release. Titled "The Temp of Frankenstein, this one pokes fun at cheezy horror films, and it provides four pre-generated characters and a battle scenario that allows for immediate play. Click here to ch...

"Anger Issues" would also make a great title for a future product.

Re: Super-Powered ROLF! (Wanna give feedback?)
I think if we were more familiar with the people involved, this would be one of those that would already be in the process of being written.

Oh... honest ratings or actual reviews over at DriveThru and RPGNow are always appreciated, if any of you downloaded any of the NUELOW Games items.

Re: Super-Powered ROLF! (Wanna give feedback?)
Weeeell, if it's free, I won't say no. As a note, I also don't go to conventions. We don't have any after all. But a small shop could benefit from a nice and quick ROLF! tournament. I don't speak about our small town I say that ROLF! is very cheap, fast and easy to learn. It could give a small boos...

Re: Super-Powered ROLF! (Wanna give feedback?)
actually that's very true... I'm ashamed of ever suggesting that. To my defense I said "somewhat" though. Perhaps a system to rotate through characters in the tournament? So you can try out 2-3 different chars, 2-3 battles each? It's not that 8-10 ROFL! matches take long. Rotating charact...

Re: Super-Powered ROLF! (Wanna give feedback?)
Well, personally I think a couple of pages on how ROLF! is played (not all equipment rules or all traits and maneuvers) as a cheatsheet and to introduce new players + a few somewhat balanced premade characters would be nice. Balanced? In ROLF!? I think that might be against the design philosophy of...

Re: Super-Powered ROLF! (Wanna give feedback?)
I will speak with Lynx about this idea... but I think I'll be able to provide some ROLF! materials that will be "organized play" friendly. Basically, I think the characters would have to be in the format used for "Bullets to the Head" ( go here , click on "Full Preview"...

Re: Super-Powered ROLF! (Wanna give feedback?)
I would like to ask you, are there any semi-official ROLF! tournaments in Europe? I live in a town of 65K people, so are you people supporting tournaments in so small places? We have a small RPG shop that arranges events. ROLF! rules are fun, easy, quick and cheap . With a bit of promotion, a ROLF!...

Re: Burning of haunted house
You are correct. That's why I said "something like."High Priest Mikhal wrote:The house itself isn't a ghost IIRC. It's a cursed location playing merry hell with time but not a ghost.
Another RL release that could be a foundation for a "house as ghost" adventure is "Castles Forlorn."
