Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof
Well, if you rule that lesser restoration can remove permanent blindness, then that means it restores sight by way of healing whatever damage caused the blindness. Same should then be true of the paralyzed condition. It can be read that way, though I find it super ironic that by that logic Lesser R...

It's interesting that Madam Eva (according to Curse of Strahd) has it in her spell list.Jester of the FoS wrote: That's a 7th-level spell and requires a level 13 cleric. How many of them are in Ravenloft?
Also Viktra Mordenheim is described as being able to heal or replace any body part, so she's another option

Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof
We should probably acknowledge that D&D healing is bonkers in general. It makes no logical sense that a Potion of Healing that completely restored a near-dead commoner would barely heal a scratch on a high-level fighter. But here we are.

Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof
A DM can absolutely rule that those spells would be sufficient in their game. By the rules through, hit point loss never results in permanent injuries, so effects that restore the former won't necessarily cure the latter. Again, unless the DM decides to allow it. That would also probably mean that t...

Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof
True Resurrection is the only spell that lists replacing injured or missing internal organs among its effects. Wish could arguably do the same thing, while Regenerate, though technically only restoring missing limbs, might be stretched to permit it by a sufficiently generous DM.

I'd imagine she only dresses like that when socializing with other wererats. Which is probably most of the time, what with Pont-a-Museau under permanent quarantine.

Re: Reconciliation
Lamordia's update, I think, needs to account for the fact that Leudendorf and Neufurchtenburg are much more steampunky in the new book, that the Living Brain is now the political leader of the domain and that there's enclaves of ancient humanoid tribes mounting attacks on the encroaching civilization.

I really like your Vladesca. That story really works.
One note: the end result is a little close to Ivana/Ivan relationship. Have you considered having Vladesca simply replace her dad?

In the new setting, Louise's role has changed from the old canon. When Jacqueline turned the rest of her family into wererats, Louise was the only one who resisted, so Jacqueline disfigured her and cast her out. Now I like to imagine the scene playing out like "You WILL wear the rat slippers, L...

Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof
I don't suppose you could give thoughts as to the direction you were hoping it might go? Just for my own curiosity? :) I don't know what I expected exactly, but at a minium for Mordenheim to have a reason to pursue her research other than just thinking evil science is cool? Maybe some sort of love-...

Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof
Said review also spoiled Kalakeri a bit, and Arijani is still in - the new darklord (Ramya) is one of his two sisters, and given how she is a death knight (which is not something I expected in an Indian domain, but it's hardly out of theme), it's easy to say, if fusing settings, she renamed Sri Rai...

Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof
Take that negative if you want, but I say it with a got-nothing-to-gain observer's neutrality. :| Apparently "observer's neutrality" in this context assumes that being straight, white, and able-bodied is the "baseline", and having established NPCs suddenly deviate from that mold...

Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof
This is another case of 'How well did the writers do this?' They did it barely at all, really. There's a short sentence about Alanik's legs being paralyzed after he once fell off a roof. That's it. It's quite remarkable that a short sentence and one illustration have generated two pages of discussi...

Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof
You know, I'm getting worried that in focusing too much on Alanik and his wheelchair, we're missing the opportunity to talk about other important things in the new book. Things like this :| Dr. Frantisek Markov is a genius – but less so than yesterday. His Markov Formula grants him unparalleled inte...
