Table of Context from the book. :)
Well... :?

I guess... it makes sense now... that they gave Azalin's curse to Hazlik... :hazlik:

Excuse me, I need to go shout some things into a pillow.

Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof

The latest Dragon Talk is light on new information, but near the end Wes Schneider lets slip a reference to a "haunted city of I'Cath". Also each domain apparently gets between four and eight pages of description (including the darklord bios), suggesting about same the level of detail as D...

Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof

A recent tweet teases new info about Lamordia's darklord, who apparently has ways to "improve" adventurers to make them into better golem-hunters.

Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof

They've changed Ankhtepot's background and his curse. Other than that, the domain seems to have been fleshed out better, rather than reinvented. I like the "we were exploring a regular dungeon and suddenly we're inside a desert tomb" trick, a good alternative to using the Mists. Also it's ...

Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof

I hope the book provides new rules for how teleportation and scrying magic works between different domains. Naturally we want the PCs to feel trapped, but on the other hand these kinds of abilities give high-level D&D much of its uniqueness and charm.

Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof

The latest Adventurers League storyline is set to take place in Ravenloft. One detail caught my interest: the characters have to be natives of one of the Domains of Dread. This implies that the new setting is meant for more campaign styles than just Weekend in Hell. I hope it's true, even though at ...

Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof

In the longer version of the interview, they do briefly mention the wax museum. Also, the village of Chateaufaux is (kinda but not quite) gone, with Port-a-Lucine making up most of the domain.

Re: It is back!!! What we do know about VR Guide to Ravenlof

There's a new video interview about the new incarnation of Dementlieu. I haven't decided if I like it yet, but I appreciate that they're transparent with us about what Dementlieu 2.0 sets to do: provide a domain that's laser-focused on politicial intrigue and/or twisted faerie tales. If the DM prefe...

Re: Picking a module to run...

In addition to 2E modules, maybe give Candlekeep Mysteries a look. Some of the short adventures in that book (especially Book of the Raven , A Deep and Creeping Darkness and Shemshime's Bedtime Rhyme ) simply scream Ravenloft. Also the Dark Tales and Disturbing Legends book has The Curse of Ashingto...

Re: Status check

Other than that, life ain't too good. In a rough patch right now. Have been since Dec 2019, but it shows no signs of getting any easier. I'm sorry to hear that and wish it wasn't the case. I don't know the details so I won't say anything else, but I've always appreciated your thoughts and your work...

Re: Ravenloft is back in 5e?

I'm sorry I missed that barb. I didn't mean to approve of a point made at the expense of another poster, especially Drinnik. That's not right. I apologize. Also, I've had another disturbing thought. Now that many Core domains are going to be islands, are they going to change the road and river names...

Re: Ravenloft is back in 5e?

The setting is evolving, and in doing so, it lives on. What's better is it gives potentially new life to fan sites like these that have survived well past Secrets of the Kargatane or the Lonesome Road. I'm not particularly a fan of the idea of breaking up the Core into multiple islands, but as some...
