Re: Quoth the Raven # 21
Had the misfortune to stumble by late at night, when I really didn't have the time to read. Still, I was halfway through the article on Barovia before I finally forced myself to bed (I'd really honestly only meant to skim). Looking forward to giving both that and the one on Pharizia a proper read th...

Re: Starcrossed: A Ravenloft Comic Discussion
Haven't said, but I'll say it now: I really do like your character design on the rakshasa, and the new page really sticks the landing, I think. And both the flow of the transformation and the colors used are truly gorgeous.

Re: Starcrossed: A Ravenloft Comic Discussion
Finally got myself around to catching up on this. Kind of wish I'd done it before I started planning a campaign in Darkon...I introduced both of my players to the comic to get them interested in Ravenloft, and it might have been fun to work cameos in for some of your characters.

Purple Duck games had a PFRPG accessory called "Legendary Races: Rakshasa", which included some ecology info, similarly sourced monsters like the Vetala, and a few thematic magic items and spells.

There was an article in QtR 20 where Dread Selkies were used as sort of an aquatic equivalent to the Vistani.

Re: doveloft?
I think that any reverse-Ravenloft should be based on the idea that the canon darklords managed to attain that sliver's chance at redemption, only with the resulting consequences catapulting the canon heroes into darkness. If Godefroy is somehow broken of his passions and laid to rest, freeing Jules...

Re: Starting the Hexad Stuff
There are rules for voodan for 3.5 in Dark Tales and Disturbing Legends. And the Fraternity's Souragne survey is definitely worth looking through for ideas. If I remember, there was something about a werecrocodile and a cult of lizardfolk that might be interesting to mix in there.

Re: Movies that have that Ravenloft feel
I recently watched The Possession on Netflicks - I'd never seen it before, nor heard of it. I thought it was at least as good as the Exorcist, and certainly derived from that movie. I enjoyed the Jewish take on ghosts, demons, possession and exorcism. The special effects showing the being that is f...

Re: Night Vale
Apologies for thread necroage... So, have you heard the "Welcome to Night Vale" podcast. It is entertaining. I think it might make for an interesting "modern" dread domain. I've no idea who the dark lord is though... possibly the Big Glowing Cloud. I haven't even gotten through t...

Re: Ravenloft alternatives
Not the original module, but I had the crazy idea run through my head that it might be possible to adapt the Grim Harvest into a cyberpunk setting, with Azalin as the head of a shady multinational tech corporation, obsessed with the idea of consciousness uploading.

Re: Random hooks thread
A remote village has begun to suffer several strange events: homes and property are being vandalized in gruesome fashion, and some residents describe falling victim to cruel attacks from an unseen force accompanied by mocking laughter and the stench of decay. Now, many of those previously targeted h...

Re: Which is the best World Map?
My map is more old school (the shadow rift is not exposed to the surface and is more like the Underdark) I've been thinking about doing something similar if it comes up in my next game: stealing that old idea about placing the Shadowlands where the Rift is in canon and submerging the Rift beneath t...

Re: Disney in the Mists
Oh, if we're including Disney TV shows not linked to the movies: Gargoyles. Gargoyles, Gargoyles, Gargoyles. Gosh, so many plots from that show would work well for Ravenloft... - Demona and Macbeth's history could probably be used almost as-is... Honestly, if any Disney villain ever held the potent...

Re: Wonders of the Core
Apart from Arden Bay, I believe most of parts of Mordent's coastline are sheer chalk cliffs, with the two on either side of the bay having been named (the Ashen Man and Pale Lady). The view coming into the bay might be a sight worth seeing.
