Re: Restructuring the Clusters (or the Core, even)
Well, I've done the usual things with Rookhausen and Farelle as part of the core, alongside of Bluetspur as the moon (which is one of my favourite ideas ever... War of the World Ravenloft style!). For a bit of variation, I got rid of the Shadow Rift and shoved the Shadowlands and Sanguinia in there....

Re: Unofficial Domains
I'm working on a domain for this years QtR... but I don't want to promise anything until it actually gets close to being finished. Dark Powers willing, however, you'll have another to add to this list by All Hallow's Eve. Along with my shades/boogiemen/nightmare court/revised plane of shadows book.....

Re: Carrion Crown
THAT is excellent news! I'd be very excited to add Ustalav in whole to my personal Demiplane of Dread. I wonder if anyone had come up with a creation hook that would explain its existence, in whole or in part, in Ravenloft. Either way, with what has been written about Carrion Crown and now this, I ...

Re: Languages in a weekend in hell campaign
It occurs to me that the common tongue could be... well... common to all the worlds. In the 'Stargate' shows, the explorers who go through the stargate often find that the people who live on the other worlds often speak the same language because the ancients who built the stargates had visited all ...

Curses...
I haven't bought a single Magic booster since Eventide. The moment I think I'm out... THEY DRAG ME BACK IN!
Gothic Horror plus Richard Garfield... why must you torment my pocketbook so?

Re: Carrion Crown
The folks over at Paizo tend to favour Lovecraftian horror over Gothic, I've tended to notice, but that doesn't mean they don't do horror well - quite the reverse, actually. From the same adventure path as Skinsaw Murders, Hook Mountain Massacre is pretty disturbing - hillbilly ogres and all. Additi...

Re: Castle Ravenloft Boardgame - WotC Scenario Contest
What's wrath of Ashadralon? I don't think it's a remake of a classic adventure. Ashardalon was the big bad of the original 3.0 adventures WotC put out in 2000-2003 (Sunless Citadel, The Forge of Fury, Fane of the Drow, The Speaker in Dreams, Bastion of Broken Souls, etc.) He was an elder red wyrm w...

Re: Nanowrimo
I'm giving it a go... but as a university student (in journalism to boot) with several clubs I'm involved with and a new D&D group starting up on the side, I'm thinking I'll be lucky to make it even a third of the way on this novel

Congrats Jester! As a second generation gamer who learned to read out his dad's Grey and Black Boxes, and whose first adult novel read was Salvatore's Crystal Shard, I've gotta say Alexander there has quite a lot to look forward to in that regard as he grows up! Best of luck and God bless!

I'm going as Canadian politician Michael Ignatieff... I've been going as iconic politicians over the past 4 years. Went as Obama last year, McCain the year before, and Stephen Harper in 2007.
Yes, yes I'm weird as hell.

Re: Craving a new Von Zarovich story
Strahd (and Kas) did reappear in the 4e book Secrets of the Undead... not exactly a new story, but something, eh? But aye, wouldn't be surprised if we don't get a few new bits or short stories involving Baron von Zarovich over the next year or so... he, Azalin, and Drakov are so iconic and central t...

Re: Ravenloft as featured article of Wikipedia today!
They were removed with the comment: "fansites don't really belong here". not sure why not, but I'm not up on all of wikipedia's standards.. Aye, that kind of surprises me. I guess , and this is just reaching, but because the Frat is a general Ravenloft, rather than specifically I6, they c...

Re: Ravenloft as featured article of Wikipedia today!
Excellent! *cue ominous lightning and thunder, as is appropriate in this situation of celebration* And Gonzoron, articles can be tagged by Wikipedia users to be featured, at which point they are then vetted by the editors of that site for quality, accuracy, style, etc. etc. Those that pass are put o...

Re: Ultimate Magic in Playtest (Pathfinder)
Aye, the flavour issue was my main concern with this class as well... it really does look like a fantastic, and potentially fun class to play, but much like the summoner from the APG, the magus seems to be a bit too "high fantasy" for a Ravenloft campaign. I can see a few coming from Sithi...

Re: Ustalav (Pathfinder)
Whoa! The blurb on Rule of Fear reads like the back of the Black Box. And the adventure is the first of six? This sounds all too familiar and wonderful. I'm imagining enough new land and plot hooks to create a second core. Aye, Paizo's adventure paths are typically 6 issues long, with an added map ...
