I love it. It's the perfect little taste of high, dark fantasy a low-fantasy campaign can use in a setting to keep it interesting. This seems like an excellent place for wizards, sorcerers, and warlocks of all stripes to purchase spells and pay for a tutor. I have a *few* quibbles, but they're minor...

Gothic Horror, generally low-fantasy, Germanic in flavor if in the Core.

I do think that it's time for a clear mission statement for this project.

One of the hangups of doing a 4e version of Ravenloft is the Dragonborn. It's hard to see how they can fit in.
