Re: I updated Al Kathos
"Ram-headed" could be just about anything. Efreeti have horns, and the Al-Qadim setting has lots of special genies with unique appearances. Satyrs are inappropriate for an Arabian-inspired domain and they are not found in Zakhara, which is where this domain originated. Do yourself a favor...

Re: I updated Al Kathos
I'm not trying to be belligerent, honestly. I'm sorry if it came off that way, but honestly I'm a little baffled that I'm being interpreted that way -- I'm not attacking brilliantlight or calling him names, nor am I deliberately using harsh or insulting language. I'm trying to offer honest and const...

Re: I updated Al Kathos
Well you added the homebrew tags this time, at least. I still don't understand why you insert Greco-Roman tropes/myths into domains based on other cultures, though. Al-Kathos is supposed to be Arabian, and specifically pulled from the Zakhara region of Toril, aka the Al-Qadim "Arabian Adventure...

Re: Just how many Earths are there in D&D?
Check Out ripvanwormers excellent article on earth parallels in D&D on canonfire: Oerth Yarth Aerth Uerth Earth . We also discussed this in this ancient thread about destroying Ravenloft with some speculation on the relation of Averoigne to Ravenloft, Masque and Earth. Great reading... Roger E....

Re: African Core
If you're looking for statistics to use and an idea for an Africa like continent, the Kingdoms of Kalamar book Svimohzia: the Ancient Isle would be a good source. This was a great setting where they did a lot of research for most of their projects (like their awesome atlas). Even better: the Nyambe...

Re: 5e announced!
Now that I actually own the book and have perused it, I've noticed that they've broken the "cardinal sin" of Ravenloft design: the 5e DMG defines the Dark Powers as "beings of the Shadowfell" who constructed the Demiplane of Dread as "a prison." Eh... that's not much o...

Re: Unsolved Mysteries: Ravenloft
The REAL question is: Did Death, the requiem Death, managed to break out of Darklordship, out of Ravenloft, out of time , go to Prime Material Barovia and made a deal with Strahd? If you read the comments that Mangrum made about my question, then the (non-canonical) answer would be the reverse of w...

Re: Unsolved Mysteries: Ravenloft
Yeah, that works and makes sense. It's unfortunate the other Kargat at TSR prevented that from being canon, but I can understand why they did.

Oh, I've got one.
Who or what did Strahd really make his bargain with? Strahd called it "Death", but that's all we know.

Re: How to role play an Obedient?
actually there are like no "big" adventures for most of the Western core with only Howls in the Night for Mordent That's not exactly accurate. Mordent first appeared in the AD&D 1st. Edition adventure I10: Ravenloft II - The House on Gryphon Hill , so that's two adventures for Mordent...
