A Caliban Barbarian/Druid from Barovia
A new player in my heavily modified Curse of Strahd game would like to play a caliban barbarian with ties to druids in Barovia. I'm explicitly playing a game where native characters are from Barovia, but have no issue with adapting druidic sects from Forlorn or Verbrek if it fits. Any ideas for his ...

Re: Best Haunted House Adventures?
Loved "Death House" from 5e. Can you tell me why? (In general, I'm looking for reasons why people enjoy different haunted house adventures to find more fundamental reasons people like haunted house adventures on the whole. But more specifically I hated Death House and would love to unders...

Re: Best Haunted House Adventures?
Thanks, guys! So what about these adventures makes them memorable to you? What would convince you to run them over another haunted house adventure?

Re: Hard question about translating wolfwere!
This is an interesting dilemma. Let me preface by saying: I don't speak Italian, so my aid will be limited. Now for some additional background on the etymology of lycanthopes and similar creatures in D&D: In standard english, a Lycanthrope and a Werewolf are two words for the same thing. You are...

Re: Putting Leo Dilisnya in Curse of Strahd
For anyone interested, here's an account of how Leo has factored into my game thus far: Leo Dilisnya assumed the guise of "Brother Amal" while in Vallaki. I'd have used "Brother Henrik", like Fair Barovia , but there's already the coffin maker with a similar name. He showed up, b...

Re: Time Dilation Adventure
I see two of them at first thought. One is obviously Castle Forlorn, and the other Ashington Manor (in DT&DL). Second is much simpler in scope, and fun (I DMed it). Joël I think that I was thinking of Castles Forlorn... even though it's not quite what I'm after at the moment. Ashington Manor is...

Time Dilation Adventure
I might be going crazy, but I swear I remember a Ravenloft adventure that featured time passing at different rates in different locations. Am I just completely misremembering something?

Re: Ravenloft GUMSHOE
My primary experience with GUMSHOE has been through Trail of Cthulhu and Night's Black Agents. I could certainly see the GUMSHOE system being adapted to work with Ravenloft, though magic and the influence of the Dark Powers on players might be the more difficult aspects. Trail of Cthulhu's stability...

Strahd and Azalin: A Bard's Tale
So in my Curse of Strahd game, I have Rictavio telling stories at the Blue Water Inn that have some relation to the Ravenloft campaign setting. I didn't want to come up with random funny stories about nothing like the adventure suggests. My players decided to stay for the first story and because I'd...

Re: Putting Leo Dilisnya in Curse of Strahd
In addition to promises of payments, maybe once the job is done, they could receive an invitation to dine with Lord von Zarovich Indeed I already plan on this. I'm playing Strahd very much like Mads Mikkelsen's portrayal of Hannibal in the titular television series--that is, utter evil hidden behin...

Re: Putting Leo Dilisnya in Curse of Strahd
I think I want Strahd to be enraged at learning Leo is not only alive, but has managed to be a thorn in his side once more. Not only that, but I think that should also be Leo's goal with the intent of drawing Strahd out to get his revenge. As such, I don't think he should try to frame someone else. ...

Putting Leo Dilisnya in Curse of Strahd
PREFACE: I'm running my Curse of Strahd campaign a little backwards as my players started in Zeidenberg, made their way through the ruins of Berez, and are now in Vallaki. I've foreshadowed Ireena with the statue in Berez and the dolls in Vallaki, but Ireena herself hasn't made an appearance yet. In...

Re: Quick Question for QTR 11
No problem! Zilfer's idea would work, as well. In fact, MS Word can save as PDF and print to PDF by default, so you wouldn't need to use an online converter. Just a tip if you ever encounter a similar scenario in the future.rarcher wrote:Thank you SO much Ender! Your help is so greatly appreciated!
