Re: The Wishing Imp and time travel

Well, the wish doesn't specify the party's physical location when they arrive in the past. If they arrive back in a different domain, they could "possibly" meet with themselves (after all, the Mists could theoretically transport anyone anywhere), while in practice being in a totally new si...

Looking for a Dungeon Adventure

There's a particular adventure from Dungeon magazine which sounds like it would be fun to play, but I only have a description, not a title or issue number. Does anyone know which issue this adventure is from?: The characters (who should be around 1st level) are in a large city and witness the execut...

Re: Ravenloft Endless Quest Book

Thank you for sharing this - great news!

It's interesting that each book features a different class and different campaign setting. Hopefully that means that we will also see a 'wizard in Greyhawk' and 'fighter in Eberron' (or Krynn?) books soon.

Re: Adventure Advice?

The group had its third session this Friday. Over the course of the game, the PCs discovered (via Gather Information) a pattern of fey activity which seemed to recur every five years. They hired a local tracker to examine the area around the mushrooms; next time the tracks they've discovered will le...

Re: Adventure Advice?

Thank you for the suggestions, The Lesser Evil. By "not knowing where to go next", I meant that I was unsure where to take the adventure. The PCs currently have something of a plan: they are searching the nearby forest for any signs of fey activity, which seems like as good an approach as ...

Re: Gods of the Eternal Order

All good ideas, and it's helpful that you have confirmed that gods of undeath are considered "Death gods" for the purpose of being included. On the other hand, Udlen is a puzzling choice on the part of the writers: one would think that death would be part of the domain of one of the benevo...

Adventure Advice?

I've recently started running an in-person campaign once every two weeks, beginning with the adventure "Child of the House" from the Fraternity's library page. Now the (still first-level) PCs are attempting to locate the missing children of the first adventure's antagonist, which (it was s...

Gods of the Eternal Order

The description of the Eternal Order in the 3.5 Campaign Setting states that they worship a number of death gods from other religions. So it seems likely that they have a somewhat normal pantheon, in which each god has their own spheres of influence - except that Death would be a point of overlap fo...

Re: Fiends, Celestials, and Powers Checks

My personal opinion is that fiends shouldn't have to make Powers Checks, even if their corruption has risen high enough to eliminate their reality wrinkles. The Dark Powers are take an interest in people who succumb to temptation and fall from innocence into evil. A fiend is already as evil as it is...

Christmas Giveaway by Frog God Games

Frog God Games has been giving away one PDF product for free on each of the twelve days leading up to Christmas. The PDFs for day 10 and 11 are still available on their free download page and the twelfth should be available on Christmas Day itself. Not affiliated with them - it just seemed like peop...

Re: Dread Possibility: The Syborne Institute for Modern Medi

This looks like a good site for an adventure, particularly since its disguise as a normal hospital gives the PCs a reason to go there without necessarily suspecting anything sinister occurring behind the scenes.

Do any of Doctor Syborne's special patients survive - and if so, as what?

Re: Unsolved Mysteries: Ravenloft

That said, I also like the argument that if Soth was once spending so much time inside the mirror's that his domain was falling apart, it might make sense that even after he stopped using them some of the idealized self image/history he was trying to build up for himself might have taken on a life ...

Re: Lazendrak, the land of Blood and Honey

I like the anti-vampire aspect, which is different and fits the darklord's personality. It seems like the curse of mistaking humans for monsters and visa-versa should eventually wear off for each particular case. Failed heroism won't torment him very much if he never realizes that he is rescuing the...

Re: Powers of Darkness: The Lost Version of Dracula

Yes, I've read it. It isn't quite as good as the original, in my opinion, and the ending seems a little contrived compared to the rest of the story. However, there are some interesting ideas there which would make good material for a game session or two. For instance, Dracula seems to be both the le...

Re: Sex roles and related social matter in your campaign

I don't think that women necessarily need to occupy a lower space in the social hierarchy for the sake of realism. Just because society looked a certain way during our own Middle Ages/Enlightenment/Victorian Era doesn't mean that every possible society at the same technology level will behave in the...
