Re: Hello hivemind. Help is appreciated.
This idea would take a bit of work on your part - having to tame the adventure down quite a bit, but from what you've typed, the House on Gryphon Hill would be a wonderful place to draw all the characters together, expose them to both Strahd and Azalin, and set in motion a grand scale campaign after...

Re: Sithicus 5e my campaign
I like it! Very original and very imaginative! Just had an idea for the "Hope" NPC - you could base her on the bard, and give her a bit of the Dark Sun flavor (2E or perhaps some 5E), based on her using the powder (similar to the bard's poison abilities). Here is a 5E conversion - https://...

Re: Official Neverwinter: Ravenloft
This Neverwinter is based more of the 4E version of D&D (arcade style), so be warned. Although, it is rather fun to play as a diversion

Re: Assistance Request: House on Gryphon Hill
Something you as a DM should try, in situations like this, is to make the plot-points very personal to the PCs. A suggestion is to have at least one, or more, NPCs affected by the Apparatus that your PCs would care about having returned to the correct body. Perhaps a family member or a love interest...

Might I suggest this -

While I am not a history buff on African culture, history or myths, this seem to be a good resource when considering that kind of area.

Re: Castlevania on Netflix - anyone watching?
I watched it, and for the most part, liked it. I agree with Gonzoron on - language; series length; and Dracula's power level. Kinda wished it was closer to PG, or PG-13 with the gore and language tho - I think it'd be good for pre-teen/teenagers to watch if it were a little less salty in the languag...

Re: Quoth the Raven - Themes wanted
Also, reading about an author's definition of horror and how they apply it (we all have our own key holes), or Ravenloft for that matter, could be an interesting read too. At least, that it what I assume Lord_Pruitt meant...(elaboration?) Hmm. Mind. Running. Away. Yes. What gothic horror means to u...

Re: Quoth the Raven - Themes wanted
How about keeping it kinda simple this go around? Something like "back to the basics" of horror, or maybe something like "back to our roots" perhaps?

Re: L'Morai and Dementlieu
So I've been reading through Carnival of Fear and I notice l'Morai bears certain similarities to Dementlieu. You've got guillotines, psychological/social issues, oppression, a Gendarmerie that is of dubious good to the oppressed, and a populace that clearly desires distraction from the world. If th...

Re: Castlevania Ravenloft
Well, you have a lot of story threads working through your story arc. Strahd could mistake the female PC as Lisa, and attempt to capture her. You could even have more of the NPCs mistake the female PC as the missing Lisa (Ireena). And perhaps she is a part of Tatyana's fractured soul, and her and Li...

Re: Ideas for a fey challenge
The evil satyr could challenge the paladin to a drinking contest; the cleric to a dancing contest; one of the fighters to a musical challenge; and the last fighter to an arm wrestling contest. These could be just to start the magical contest. Or since the PCs are from the same village, the satyr cou...
