Re: Harringhton Dale (Aka, my take on Arlington Farm)

Skimmed over it, looked interesting, but one thing that stood out was that there was no "escape clause" so to speak to his Darklordship. Most Darklords have some possible vulnerability that the PCs/players could in theory use to destroy them for good, Poisoning Jaqueline Renier with dove f...

Re: The War in the Core

How George would respond to the death of Natalia is interesting. She was his nemesis, and the only woman he loved. Also after years of hunting it was his nieces that succeeded, that might break some men. On the other hand, it's now over because with the death of her trigger Gennifer's lycanthropy w...

Re: Another alternate Drakov

Death Unchained isn't the Black Box, of course. It's presentation of Falkovnia could be seen as another step in the evolution of Drakov. A number of lords and domains either shift a bit over time, or start off a bit fuzzy and end up much more sharply defined. For me, being familiar with the Black B...

Re: Another alternate Drakov

EDIT Where do the sources say Drakov works the demi human slaves to death ? Is that canon, or just your take on it? From Death Unchained page 10 One section of the wall has a large gap which is being repaired by three emaciated figures-an elf and two dwarves. They are shackled together and are lift...

Re: Another alternate Drakov

Drakov is not a Falkovnian by birth or breeding, He's a Thenolite. His kingdom hired bakali mercs on a pretty regular basis. There's a good chance he has seen minortaurs and possibly elves in battle. Since the Black Box nowhere describes him as despising nonhumans, it seems to me that to assume &qu...

Re: Another alternate Drakov

That right there is how I've always interpreted Drakov's curse, he cannot and will not see the world for how it is, "big picture" wise, and therefore is ignorant of the DPs, DLs, borders etc, which is a far greater problem for him (IMHO) than the actual border closures themselves. I'd lik...

Re: Another alternate Drakov

Drakov has a Ministry of Arcane, and that is canon; The Tower Radiant means arcanists; I play Pathfinder, no XP needed for magic items; My Drakov has also a local branch of the Lawgiver faith which act as state sanctioned priests. So, he has the resource of mystical power; My Falkovnia has XVIII Ce...

Re: Questions/ideas about Circle of Darkness...

I had a look though and it doesn't really say. However given the place is essentially a theocracy based around food distribution one would suspect there is something in place. A vague idea is to have something like Indulgences. While visitors technically don't have to give up any food they have, if...

Re: Another alternate Drakov

With mass production, and forced labor, prices must be lowered at least ten times; Thus an elite force is manageable; a mass of low level warriors destined to be slaughtered is useless against powerfull elit forces, without at least one elite unit. I feel you're making assumptions that are difficul...

Re: Questions/ideas about Circle of Darkness...

On the first question it discusses visitors and their inclusion on the dole they get three days of food instead of two like a regular citizen. The question you posed in the City if hunger section. You misread me I think. I'm not asking about if visitors can get food from Zhakata Dole, I'm asking, a...

Questions/ideas about Circle of Darkness...

I'm going to be doing some stuff with Circle of the Darkness in the near future so would like some feedback from you guys on points that are left a little unclear in the adventure book. Are foreigners who are visiting Zhukar exempt from Zhakata's Taking? Though G'Henna is unquestionably a theocracy,...

Re: Changes to Voroetokov

He is a good hunter who is also incapable of becoming a loup du noir . This upsets his father who thinks it will allow him to become closer to his son. He tried turning him into a loup du noir years earlier and it didn't work. He is trying to come up with a ritual or something that will allow Mikha...

Re: Changes to Voroetokov

First thing I change is the "eternal winter" which makes it questionable if anyone survives. Not much grows in winter and they would likely all starve to death. It is still an arctic place and so very cold. However like such places it has a six month summer followed by a six month winter....

Re: Noah TImothy

I was thinking of using infinite wolves to close the borders, do you have a better suggestion? Infinite Wolves too close to Richemulot's infinite rats. Maybe instead it's a deafening ever present wolf howl /wolves howling that either cause fear/convince people to turn back or start causing sonic da...

Re: Border Closures

The problem is that with border closures "getting kicked to the curb" is the most likely result. If his army enters Darkon then it gets wiped out by infinite undead, it gets snowed in in Larmordia, Richemulot is guarded by infinite rats that can be summoned on the border, which leaves Bor...
