"Do we know if the girl has chaperones?" he asks, "I assume they're not leaving her alone very often to, you know, keep people from doing what we're currently trying to do. We'll have to deal with them if that's the case."
"Of course," Benn mutters, "It would be a damned shame if we ever knew what the hell was actually going on."

''She's hardly ever alone, except in her rooms, I think. And even then, I'm sure she has a maid to help her dress and bathe."

Aldron shows the party some maps.

http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg12 ... mzw4y0.png

"The house plans aren't complete or exact. I don't have plans that show the attic or the cellars of Holbin House, only the two main floors, and of course these maps don't show any hidey holes, concealed closets, narrow hidden hallways, and so on that might be present. I drew these with help from a servant, and from what I have seen on past visits. Some of the details are conjectural. I did my best.
That sketch of a section of the market area I know better than Holbin House. You'll see some marked shops Elissa likes to visit, and some other local landmarks. If she goes out, there is a good chance she might be in one of those places. Not guaranteed, of course. None of these places were ever used in failed attempts to pass messages to her, so I think her father hasn't forbidden her to go to them."

He stands up, holding one of the papers.

"The priest I have is nervous but willing, and as I've said, we've little time to delay. I want you to get Elissa to the rendezvous spot at the Dancing Maidens, in the city's great park, by one hour before midnight, tomorrow night. If that's impossible, I can try to reschedule, but I really think the sooner the better. As one of you noted, the family might expect an attempt at elopement. But there's no way they will expect decisive action so quickly, because they've no idea that your party is working to help Richard and Elissa. You are the lucky draw, the fortunate accident that can bring a happy ending. Nobody knows you or what you are capable of, except me. The Holbin and Savelle patriarchs probably only expect the lovers to pass messages, and maybe contrive to meet again briefly, and like as not to be thwarted as in the past. When you find Elissa tell her that you've come to bring her to Richard and show her the locket with the portrait as his token. "

He then passes the handwritten sheet he holds to Alfonse.
It shows her most recent daily itinerary.

"There are a number of possibilities to get a message to her," Alfonse says, "A servant brings it in one of her meals, we replace the maid while she's by herself, we get something to her in the market...etc etc. There are a lot of options. Any thoughts on what gives us the best chance?"

''Hmmm, I'm not sure. I used to be able to just pass notes through a sympathetic maid. But she's been reassigned to a different property. No help there. Maybe you could steal a maid's outfit and dress Gertie up. But I imagine other servants would realize she's a stranger. The market might be your best bet. It's public, and getting close should be easy. If you find her. But then she'll have all those guards with her, and her mother too. Entry into the house might be difficult and dangerous, but it's the sort of bold plan that could catch the staff off guard. I really am not sure how best to proceed. That's why I need men like you, Alfonse. I hope all this information and the maps will be useful. You can leave a message about success or failure for me with my man here at the Admiral's Arms. Whatever you do, don't directly contact me or bring me into the matter in any other fashion. I'm your best hope if you get caught, but only if nobody knows I'm involved."

Aldron smiles at Gertie.
"Of course, Gertie. I'll make time for you."

"My family works in shipping and merchant trade," Alfonse continues, more thinking outloud than directing it at anyone, "I could always approach them with some sort of new opportunity as a means of entry to the manor house..."
"Of course," Benn mutters, "It would be a damned shame if we ever knew what the hell was actually going on."

Tom was silent till now thinking what he heard.

"Master Aldron, do you know how many guards are at the palace and can we find their schedule and who accompanies Elissa? We can get a uniform and I can disguise as one of them and try to pass her a message. Then at 11pm me and Gertie or Damien can climb at her chamber always disguised as guards, get her and take her to Richard. We can mingle better if we look like guards and will have to answer less questions. Maybe we can even try to be assumed as such since I presume safety is never too much for Hoblin's daughter."

"I can pretend to be a guard. I'm small so I would be overlooked as a threat and it would give more credibility to "travelling merchant" or such a disguise if a small guard was attending. And I could have reason to be armed. Not that we plan to use violence, but we may need threats."

Aldron replies to Tom,
"I don't know how many guards the Holbins employ, but they are not supposed to have maintain a standing force of greater than thirty-six men-at-arms. Anything larger counts as a private army. Naturally, limited to such a small guard force, they hire only veterans. Mostly skilled swordsmen. That number does not include any members of the family who know how to fight. And like the Savelles, the Holbins also have a great many citizen supporters, warehouse watchmen, servants who could pick up weapons in an emergency, mercenaries they could call in, etc, so in the event of serious danger they could muster a much larger force. But that would take time."

Fild makes a grimace. "It won't come to that Lord Aldron." adding in gnomish, to himself "We would have been defeated before they called anyone."

"Oh? Well, I certainly hope I'm paying you enough to think of a better plan than engaging their full complement of guardsmen in a melee."
Aldron smiles.

Master Folbre adds,"But I have confidence in your resourcefulness. Now have you more questions? Anything else you need before you begin? I'll help as I am able."

"We will not come to fight them, but maybe Damien and I can disguise as two of them when we escort Elissa to the meeting point. Can you find us couple uniforms Master Aldron?"

Looking at everyone for a brief moment Tom makes a synopsis of what they have said so far:

"So we will try to pass Elissa a message telling her our plan. At the decided time we will go out of her window and try to get her out, maybe disguise her as well. Alfonse will be a merchant wizard that wants to meet Master Hoblin, Fild will be his bodyguard. Gertie can disguise as maid but I think she is the best to pass the messge to Elissa. A young girl is beyond suspicion."
