Sci-fi and MoRD?

Post by Blacklight »

Hi guys i am very new here and was wondering what people thoughts were on mixing elements of Sci-fi into a more Modern version of MoRD.

Let me give you a bit of back story to help people understand. I recently found the 3.5 v of MoRD and thought that this was a pretty cool idea. But honestly i really dislike the 3.5 system. At first i tried converting it with Spycraft 1.0 for a more modern espionage feel, using the MoRD as a Spring board and Adding elements from the Shadow Force Archer from the Spycraft line. But the Spycraft rules while superb are very rule intesive. Then i remebered that i had the Savage Worlds system. For those not familiar with SW it a multi genre rpg with simple and rules and a lot of fun.

Anyways my plan is to have a international conspiracy that deals with the strangeness of Gothic Earth circa 2009. Any ideas of doing this.

Check out Call of Cthulhu D20 and Ultramodern Firearms. I'm sure you'll find both to be good resources.

If you need plot ideas I'd reccomend watching old episodes of Tales From The Crypt, Tales From The Darkside, Friday The 13th: The Series (3rd season will be out later this month), The Twilight Zone (The Original Series), X-Files, Buffy,......hmm, I think is long enough already.
