New to Ravenloft? Or new to our forum? introduce yourself!
Re: New to the Forum? introduce yourself here!
Thanks for the welcome
Yes the Mistpedia is being extensively used. They characters in my game have free reign to travel to anywhere in Ravenloft, and I made a vow to myself to include as much of the official story as possible in this adventure. Not that i'm forcing the players to experience every detail of it, I just like having it all there in my mind, in the background of what's happening if they ever want to dig deeper. Its a great excuse for me to re-immerse myselfr in the world as well.

<p'shhh> Where'd all this fog come from!?
Who're you?
...Dru.?..you wanna what!?
...suck the life from my heart?...Ha!... Girl, I been married before!; You best get on...
FYI: ('Married Before' works better than a garic crucifix...+1)
"I say, this place looks like that Ravenloft!...
Again!
Doggone!... I just cain't stay out of this place even when I want to!...
It's like Dallas...it's damned fiendish I tell ya..."
<bowing; resigned>
"Masters, of this great maison, truly, I have no idea why the print on my Hawaiian shirt has tunred to cobwebs, nor why my shorts have turned to breeches...
However...
I can hear I am in Sourange from the patois coming from the commoners outside; & I can smell the spice on the crawfish...(someone please correct Miss Golden on the proper terminology...'crayfish', indeed!)
so it feels like home. (hence my name)
So, if I must be in this lovely darkness, again, I ask for your welcome & that of the followers in your community, which, as I've read as a browser, seem to be lovely travelers of darkness themselves.
Therefore, grim tidings to all & hoping the gargoyles grimmace in your favor,
Bayou Jack

Now that's an entrance.
Welcome, Bayou Jack!

Re: New to the Forum? introduce yourself here!
Hello! I'm new to the forum, and I thought it would be appropriate to say hello. I've been playing rpgs for about 5 years, although I'm in my 30s. I've played many different systems, but Ravenloft has always been my favorite setting. Recently, I've been using the Savage Worlds rules almost exclusively.
Also, I'm a very active user of Google+, Facebook not so much. Furthermore, I like to play games in Google Hangouts using the Roll20 software, so if anyone is interested in playing some Ravenloft online, please don't hesitate to drop me an instant message.
Live long and prosper.
Paul V.

Welcome Paul V! We don't have a Google+ presence at the moment, but maybe we should. I don't really use any of those new-fangled social media thingees outside of FoS business, so I'd have to play with it a bit to see how....

Re: New to the Forum? introduce yourself here!
Well, I found out today there's already a Ravenloft community on Google+ at this link: https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities ... 6864696375. So, I guess if any members wanted to join, we could just join the community that already exists. Of course, the other option would be to make an actual Fraternity Of Shadows Ravenloft community, which would be completely possible since Google+ allows multiple communities of the same topic.

Thank's for the welcome, Gonzoron!
However, red wine is mostly to credit for the pinache of the entrance.
Yeah, HumanBing, sounds to me like that torturer might wanna pack a lunch...
Howdy, Paul, & welcome!

Just joined up again after a looong hiatus. I know I had something accepted in one of the netbooks, but I no longer have any memory of where it is. Basically a psionics in RL- connection to Bluetspur, and an invented background for the Thoughts of Darkness adventure, with a connection to the Apparatus.

USS 2002, Brotherhood of Contemplative Power.
Upon rereading, ugh. I'd change many things. I can see reasons as why it would not have been accepted in any of the BOS.
Although, I feel much of the dichotomy that should be present (extremes on both ends)in most RL material is absent in many works; the "snake beneath the roses", and constant dread, rather than unrelenting horror. I should have played with the ideas of self-mastery against losing oneself into obsession much more.
Psionics is tough in RL. The RAW makes a psi character extremely difficult to play. I had tried to give people that wanted to try anyway a possible background, as well as tie up the loose ends in Thoughts of Darkness. I was only partially successful.

Welcome, serab:)! Glad to see the next generation of Ravenloft fans checking in. Now don't go too crazy with the fonts, we've got a dark and spooky vibe to maintain here.

Re: New to the Forum? introduce yourself here!
So there you are! I knew you'd find your way on here eventually. Glad to see you are exploring the forum--looking forward to that summer typing class now, are we?
I don't know about the username, though. "Serab" just doesn't have the right ring to it when people say it. I think you should put an underscore or capital in there (sera_b or SeraB). OTOH, maybe you should just add a letter to make it ring differently--scerab? I know you may not like them, but the little beetles are very Ravenlofty!
I put it to the Fraternity--what's a girl to do with a name like that?

Serab is an Arabic feminine name meaning "to flow".
So perhaps she has a bright future in bardic pursuits or poetry. Or hydrology.
Phlebotomy?
