Re: Drawing a Map
Give me a little while. Still playing with fonts and legibility of the text and other small tweaks (like putting the forest layer above the roads to add that dash of drop shadow).Gonzoron of the FoS wrote:looking good. In the meantime:

Great map of the Verduous Lands. Is the layout of the cluster, how the domains are connected to each other, your creation? Or were they laid out officially somewhere?

Re: Drawing a Map
I think my Core maps are about done. I'll post links here once they finish uploading, and they can replace the maps on the site.
What land should I do next?
I'm leaning to the Shadowlands or Amber Wastes.

Re: Drawing a Map
That island was too awesome to be just 1 hour walk from top to bottom.
If it was 2500 sq. miles (like 1/20th of Louisiana) with a decent population 10-15K it would be way more playable IMO.
In night of the living dead, my sister decided to take a hike to the town, jogging the distance to be there in a few minutes, while investigating the murders to see if there were any spellcasters there that would be interested.

Updated them in the gallery and on Mistipedia.
BTW, noticed a small misspelling in the Verdurous Lands. It's "Vengeance", not "Vengence"

Re: Drawing a Map
I had a user request a pre-Grand Conjunction map and I said "maybe". Then I had some free time today and wondered how much I could do.
Layers and textures really make modifications go quickly. Still need to finish Valachan and the misty borders and Bluetspur is still absent. G'hena needs a little more *oomf* as well.
I'm playing a little faster and looser with locations, shifting a couple as needed to better work with the established map. There are some weird continuity hiccups.
For example, The Circle in Verbrek would totally be in Arkandale, and the Circle apparently jumps several miles north.
And Valachan is flipped 90 degrees clockwise, but based on the positions of the towns, Castle Pantara moves.
To say nothing of Hazlan. Nothing is where it should be there...
Haven't decided where they should go just yet, if I should follow the old maps or do my own thing.

Re: Drawing a Map
Mostly done now apart from some fine tuning and tweaking:
Need to check the Shattered Passage mistway. First, it looks like the image of said mistway is missing, but I believe that one goes to Bluetspur, so it's unneeded pre-GC.
A couple misty borders need work. One by Verbrek might need to shift as well, as things are a little close to Castle Lupet, which should likely be in Invidia. And there's a superfluous one by Darkon/ the Nightmare lands.
I also need to label the Nightmare lands. I'm considering throwing in a forest and city ala the Boxed Set, copying that into the space occupied. Making the new nightmare lands fit the old.

Re: Drawing a Map
Hi,
You have not included Ghastria beneath Mordent running south to Valachan which was part of the Core prior to the Grand Conjunction. Also Daglan is also missing, however that domain was not part of the Core for long.
And I have also noticed that you will need to remove the Great Chasm from Sithicus, as it did not exist untill after the event of When the Black Rose Blooms and you have not place a name on Arak and Dorvina and created a new domain out of the top of Nightmare Lands.
