A little stretching of the truth could not harm...

OK, I admit that it can actually harm.

Not knowing any better I would assume that killing Mastiff's is considered "disturbing the peace" or something when a poor nobody does it to the dogs of people with enough connections to own a fort.
Let aside that people that own a fort probably have mastiffs that can kill Fild so it wouldn't come to it probably.

Indeed!

I will post a new scene for Fild later.

1 in 20 chance of encountering somebody he knows, NPC or PC. Nat 20 only.

Its headquarters is a renovated former civic armory.
Hmmm... what are other ways to get legal license for this trade? And is Fild even aware of that? Actually, can he ask around while taking his walk?
Are the watch mildly helpful enough to answer a couple of such questions by a random poor non-human, or they tell him to get out of their way and stop bothering them?

The Watch didn't seem especially hostile when they arrested him.
Make of that what you will.

The Water Carriers include both street vendors and the specialists who oversee the underground and surface water delivery systems. Given Povero's lack of a major river, this guild has become so powerful that other guilds have combined efforts to block it from the Council. But it can make its influence felt in other ways.
This seems more suited to Fild's talents. He will go there to ask around. Hopefully it's not another castle barricaded and fortified with impersonal door-waiters.

Sounds cool.

As noted in the intro , the season is late summer/early autumn. While not hot, the weather has been warm during the day. Water sellers and carriers are doing steady business, and finding one isn't too difficult.

Wow... Fild got in the prestigious part of town. Silk handerchief lady must be really rich. Is Fild looked down upon here? Gruff house guards giving him the stink-eye etc? Or the rich lady just happened in the normal-people areas?

Yeah, he has wandered into one of the nicer parts of the Market District.
Most people don't seem hostile, but vendors of the fancier shops may sniff at him.
Little guy didn't get any bath last night. Slept in the pit.

He hadn't had a clean drink, either, or food, I think.

Ohhh! You're absolutely correct!

I'll edit my post.

How much a bath costs?

Nothing extra, back at his inn, IF he paid for a private room.
Otherwise he might be able to rinse in a horse trough. Or pay to use a bath, which could fun anyway from a Follaro to a penny, depending on services.
