If no:
Take 1-2 steps back (assuming no AO, if it's AO I'll stay put)
SHOOT THE PIRATE!
Make some noise. Scare the flock.
As noted, no penalties and he can move, too.
You did not roll, so I will.

Hits.

Don't worry about speed factor, except in ties and quick draw situations.
Ignore the somewhat cheesy katana. Ditto any bizarre weapons you haven't heard of; they might not exist. Some could, though.
I pretty much stick to PHB weapons.

Re: POVERO Campaign OOC
Two of five are down in the first round. A third has taken a minor hit.
Ouch.
Full withdrawl if they pass morale check.
Turn their backs and run if they fail.
[dice]0[/dice]
They flee!
Everybody gets both his normal attack this round (Thom, Lowen, and Alfonse have not gone yet)
AND a free attack at the pirates as they bolt.
And then we go to the next round.
Gertie whips
[dice]1[/dice]
Hits.
Damage 1d2
So 1d4 / 2
[dice]3[/dice]
Damien stabs
[dice]2[/dice]
Misses.
Let's see what , if anything, Thom, Lowen, and Alfonse will do.
Alhoon and Varrus, your guys can attack too, if you like.
Situation is three pirates not disabled, two out of the fight.
The lightly battered / unhurt trio are running away. You can attack if you like.

Horseman's mace, yeah?
[dice]0[/dice]
4 in 6 chance that hits one of the two lightly injured guys.
[dice]1[/dice]
Nope.
Now they are all sporting bruises.
ALhoon's gnome can act.
Ditto Thom, Alfonse, and Lowen.
No,,there is not a clear line of fire.

I updated the IC to reflect recent declared actions and rolls.

Can I use the blunt end of the Arquebus as a mace without damaging it in the AO? It was quite commonly used before bayonettes. Even today, the rifles our military uses can be used as blunt weapons.ewancummins wrote: They flee!

I assume I can't draw short-sword in AO.
Hit (short sword or Arquebus): [dice]0[/dice]
OK, that's a hit unless something very strange happened and the running pirate has AC 2 or less ThAC0 20 with butt-end of Arquebus, 19 with short sword.
IIRC both Blunt end of Arquebus and short sword do 1d6. If Arquebus does 1d4 tell me.
[dice]1[/dice]
+2 if using short-sword because of specialization.

1D4 sounds better for arquebus butt. Like a club.
He yes he can certainly butt stroke/bash with it.
He easily hits.

They have all taken at least a point.
So that guy just went down and out, bashed in the back or legs, however you wish to describe it.
You might have broken his leg or dislocated something.
Fild had to sprint to catch him.

One just know.

Re: POVERO Campaign OOC
Awesome.
How long to reload the Arquebus? 3 rounds? Can we play in the IC now? Fild wants to tell the others to help him climb somewhere so that he could cover them with the Arquebus. Or pass it to Tom if he knows how to use it and go sword & Board.
Is Fild hit after all BTW? I have him at 3 damage.

Re: POVERO Campaign OOC
Fild shot one. Out.
Fild bashed one. Out.
Titus clobbered one. Out.
The other two are up and running, having taken minor hits ( no serious injuries, just bruises, scratches, creeping fatigue, etc)

Yes, the guy rolled a 15 to hit.
So he hit AC five even with 20 THAC0.
Fild is AC 6
May want to get better armor, if he can lug it around.
And, yes, you can post in IC.
Describe his actions after shooting that first guy.
Speak if you like.
It does take multiple rounds to reload.
Thom can indeed shoot the arquebus. He might prefer his bow, though.

Re: POVERO Campaign OOC
Adam,Van, and Metaflux all still get actions (and a follow up attack if they are in melee).
