Fear Street - A natural Domain?

Post by HyperionSol »

Am I the only one who thinks Shadyside in the Fear Street franchise could make for a good domain setting? Books or films settings, it has a great premise. The Darklord is either a Fier, whose crimes during witch trials which included false accusations to be rewarded with land and property of the 'witches' got them cursed with constant misfortune, or their descendants being the target of evil killers, maniacs, and other evils they accused innocent people of...or a Goode, who creates evil psychopaths for a ritual to earn prosperity and wealth, having a small army of psychopaths to use as their enforcers, but any prosperity they gain is lost being so inept at stopping the killings and losing the wealth do to the damages the people cause hunting for the killers. Unwilling to give up the fortunes and reputation, they just keep making killers, trying to be the hero, only to get their acts cut short by brave teenagers who somehow end up one step ahead of them.

Shadyside and the surrounding terrain of the Fear Woods, Fear Island, offers all sorts of different settings for anyone wanting to make a Ravenloft adventure involving slasher tropes. Plus, the added intrigue of trying to track down the actual Darklord admit numerous descendants (as a twist, the title of Darklord is constantly passed down, changing the area to fit the next Darklord in line), and piecing together the dark conspiracy and the nature of the curse. A campaign can start with a few mysteries, but eventually, links are discovered. Following those links leads back to a prominent family which means trying to find out which one is the source and thus, the Darklord.
