Wasn't there also supposed to be a "proposed" Wolverine solo-film in there somewhere?

A Magneto movie and a Wolverine movie were both proposed.

Magneto as Dumbledore would be great!!!!!!!!!!! Just my opinion though. The new Dumbledore kind of bites.

We already had three Wolverine & Magneto movies. X-men, X2 and X-men Last Stand although the later was Wolverine, Magneto & Storm.

Magneto is set for a possible 2008 release, Wolverine might not be until 2010

Magneto will follow the earlier mutant years of Erik Magnus Lensher is seems.

Daredevil 2, Ghost Rider 2 are all possibilities. X-Men 4, Spider-man 4 and FF3 being very possible (or even already confirmed).

I'll see if I can track down a full list of the proposed movies released around the end of last year, but it's changed a little since then with some being canned and other replacing them.

* shudders at the thought of a Ghost Rider 2 *

The first one was bad enough.

I think FF3 was confirmed, just recently.

I'll have to check up on that.

X-Men 4?!?

I think that 3 would be the last one. What X-Men can be without Erik/professor?

[Spoilers!]

Yeah, but Magneto was getting his powers back at the end of the film. He knocked over the chesspiece without touching it.
Besides, how can they have an x-men without Scott, Jean and the Professor?

Any money says that an X-men 4 would have to waste most of the plot reuniting the cast and making up BS explainations.

He didn't really knock it over. It just wiggled a little.

And the post-credit scene showed a doctor attending a coma patient and the patient suddenly responding in Professor X's voice.

I dunno if it would work in a movie, but part of the fun of X-men comics is the ever-changing roster of mutants. Students grow up and become the teachers, teachers become headmasters, and the cycle begins again. New Mutants, Generation X, New X-men: Academy X, etc, etc.

The comic book X-men are (probably literally) a cast of thousands. With just the Xmen left at the end of Last Stand, (Colossus, Shadowcat, Storm, Beast, Wolverine, Iceman, Rogue(?? did she keep her powers, I forget...)) you could easily add two of three new characters and just keep going.

It is worth mentioning that the MAgneto movie is not set after the X-Men movies, but before them. Long before them, it's to follow his earlier days, showing how he comes to hate humanity.

As for a X-Men movie without Jean, Scott or Chhuck, it's been done for years in the comic books at various times (the 80's saw little of the Prof, Jean or Scott atached the the X-Men really), so it is more than possible, also, I've never really liked Scott or Jean all that much. The Prof is possessingthat other guys body at the end of Last Stand, so he's still about.

Indeed.

There are 'unconfirmed' rumors that some of the scenes shown will mirror the rather graphic [for the time] flashbacks of Erik's childhood, as well as those regarding the loss of his wife and child, as shown in the "Fatal Attractions" storyline, and elsewhere, in the mid-90's.

Agreed.

If it weren't for Mr. Sinister's obsession with the Summers bloodline, I'd hardly ever follow their developments with any interest.
