Tattoo me!

Post by Le Noir Faineant »

Hi all,

In all shortness, I am a nerd. And I want a nerdy tattoo that shows my affection for this our favourite game and setting. Yet, I cannot find a good pic to use.

What would you suggest me to let the nice tattooist burn into my body?
The RL logo seems kinda boring to me...

:D Of course, I could use a daisy with the FoS ring in the center... Now, that would maybe be too much...

Eagerly waiting for your more sensate suggestions!

Yours,

Rafael

Well you have to know where you are going to put the tattoo before you decide what you want as a tattoo. If you want it on your arm it wont be very big. On your back or chest you have a bigger area.

:) I have not yet decided. Only the left arm will be reserved for something else, apart from that, what looks best. (Going to do a martial arts tattoo as well, and since the docs say I will have to leave sports for about four weeks after the process, probably doing everything in a row.)

The cover painting of Strahd from the original I6? Or the cover of the Black Box?

Who's your favorite character, creature, or darklord?
"We're realistic heroes. We're not here to save the world, just nudge the world into a better place."

Thank you, Ron, for you indeed help me to structure things better!

Fav DL: Strahd. - Had a very nice from Andrew Hou from Dragon at hand,
but must somehow have deleted it.

Fav Character: Gondegal, or Lodissio, my trademark satyr from the SB game

Fav Creatures: Satyrs, I guess, or sirens/fey of the sea...

Now, if the pic is really exceptional, I have nothing against using whatever else is beautiful! :) The BB cover would maybe be too big, though...

A few years ago Maxim magazine printed a spread of "nerdy" tattoos. The one most prominently remembered featured a pair of 20 siders with the tagline "True Player" benieth the image.
Alway's liked that one.

Have a picture of Azalin's lich face tattooed with his massive iron crown and a luxurious robe or mantle on his shoulders.

The catch line should be:

"If you run, you'll only die tired."

Four weeks? That's a bit excessive. I've been tattooed half a dozen times and the absolute longest they took to heal completely was a week. If you keep up with the lotion and use antibacterial soap when you wash it, you should be pretty good to go in a few days.

Yeah what Dr Ed said. I have 2 tattoos and my wife 2 as well. It only does take a few days to heal although you cannot give blood for a year after you get the tattoo, FYI.

The classic metallic Ravenloft logo would be my choice.

My mummy used to sing me to sleep at night. 'Run and catch....the lamb-is-caught in the blackberry-patch...' She had the sweetest voice.... What will your mummy sing when they find your body?"

I'd second the I6 Strahd but I'm also partial to our favorite Death Knight- Lord Soth.

I've seen a number of D20 tats and they usually look pretty good. The design below is from a t-shirt that Paizo.com sells.

If you wanted to change the design up and make it more Ravenlofty, you could omit the flames and replace it with bat wings: A bat-winged D20 !

(And, for better clarity in the art, I'd omit trying to make the D20 look metallic. Fine shading in a tattoo takes a master tattoo artist and not all are up to the task of making it look good instead of muddy.)
