Kartakass : Chapter Five
Draven shrugs and makes a non-commital kind of sound in his throat, "We have heard and seen many things Meistersinger, it has been a long road from Darkon."
He brings the tankard to his lips, and pauses with a shudder as the smell of the ale turns his stomach. Then feigning a sip he quickly places it down before him.
Looking thoughtful as a cover he gazes back up at Lukas "umm I must ask Meistersinger, why you ask about this Mother Fury?"

"If you ask nicely, she might tell you something," Harkon says, smiling broadly. "If you have to ask...less nicely...I don't suppose that would be so bad, either. I know a man who has some knowledge of the movements of lycanthropes through this area; it's possible he might consent to guide you in a search for Mother Fury, if you make it worth his while. Should I arrange an introduction for you? She might be of interest, Goodman Draven," he says, turning to Draven, "because she is the most notorious lycanthrope in all these parts, and this Layhden might therefore have met her--whether as friend or foe I couldn't say, of course. But if you still hope to find him, she is as likely as anyone to know his whereabouts."

Tarlyn notes the fact that the Meistersinger didn't care one way or another if they were nice or not to Mother Fury. If he could help them get answers to finding the missing men, then that was fine. He would be doubly alert in case of any trouble. The meistersinger wasn't unnerved or shocked to speak so openly about lyncathropes either. He would keep that in mind for later. "I wouldn't mind meeting this guide personally. What do you guys think?" Tarlyn asks the rest of the party.
With Lukas' gaze full on him Draven is suddenly aware of the sweat forming on his brow, and he breathes a small gasp of relief as Tarlyn chimes into the conversation.
Wiping his forehead he nods towards the elf "It seems reasonable, not that walking happily into the den of a werewolf is a particularly enticing prospect." He mumbles the last scratching his hand.

"I don't think we have exhausted our alternatives, perhaps. I, for one, don't know enough about Mother Fury to simply go after her. But if that "contact" can give us some information about her, then I think, perhaps we could talk to her."

''I say we talk with the guide. Mother Fury is a possible lead, and so far we haven't much else to go on. ''
Cornelius pauses to take a swig from his mug.
''We should try to find out more about Dominic's and Percival's activitives and places of lodegment, here in Kartkass. If either man stayed at an inn, employed a servant, etc - we might be able to learn something useful from it. I suggest one of us question the locals- unless his honor the Meistersinger can answer all those questions for us. ''

Van studies Lukas carefully, something is annoying the wizard on the bard, but he cannot say what it is. When everybody speaks, Van says:
"I agree with Lucius lets try to find out more possible about this Mother Fury and then go to meet her. I agree also with Cornelius' idea about Dominic and Percival."

"H'm? Oh, I can't help you myself, I'm afraid," Lukas says, shaking his head sadly at Cornelius. "All the best, though. If you care to seek out Mother Fury, you should speak to Finrod Calrogan of Harmonia. Tell him I sent you, if you like. He'll be able to help you find her, and may be able to assist with finding your friends."

''Finrod Calrogan of Harmonia? Not too far from Skald, right? Hmmm...''
Cornelius unrolls one of his maps and tries to locate Harmonia.

"An excellent idea," Lukas says, nodding. "I wish you all the best in your search, gentlemen. I do hope you'll excuse me? Even in a petty little place like this one, a ruler has certain obligations." Standing, he bows and smiles broadly. "A pleasant evening to you!"VAN wrote:"I think we should start from the inn keeper of this inn since we are here. Then we can seek out the guide."
He moves away, speaking briefly to the clerk who gave you your keys and then going upstairs.

"Guys... I'm not feeling very at ease with this situation, and I definitely think we should not question the innkeeper yet. Let me probe him first, will you? I just don't know if he's trustworthy. I don't have the right spell right now, as I still have my spells prepared mostly for battle, but in the morning, I'll be able to sift through the surface thoughts of anyone. If I do that while we casually talk to him, I might understand what he knows, and how well he likes us. Given that this lasts for 3 minutes, if someone else keeps the conversation going and steers it adequately we may get very useful information."

Draven watches Lukas leave and continues absently staring after the Meistersinger after he's long gone. Distractedly he picks up his ale and takes a swig, and immediatley as the liquid hits his stomach he wishes he hadn't.
With a slightly sour expression he nods at Lucius and Van. "Agreed, I would certianly think given our recent arrival and our track record with innkeepers so far, that a more subtle approach is necessery. Besides having been here one night I'm sure William and I can probabley think of something to complain about and keep the fellow talking."
