All Sara see's at the moment is all that was described earlier, just dusty bunk beds in the large room is all . She would have to go into the room and see how far the rows of beds go to see how big it was .

On Dalorna looking around the room for a few minutes . It is 20' by 35' room with the door into in it's SE Corner . While looking around the room you find 28 storage chests at the ends of the bunk beds, at two to a bed . When the beds are checked, they have whats left of sleeping rolls and blankets on them . The chests if tried are looked with simple locks . Also on the wall of the room are places to put tools perhaps, although none are hung there now . It's is dusty in this room with a layer of dust covering everything, but no where near as dusty as the "meeting room" dubbed by the group directly south of this one .

If you open the locks on the chests . I need 28 total open lock rolls for Sara . With 5 sets of 5 rolls, and 1 set of 3 . Also 28 Search checks 1 per lock and/or per chest for traps .

Neither with take 20 I can get 28 :( So lets just say that Sara searches for traps for a bit then tries to open them but couln't open the chests.

Van I did not say you needed a DC 28 Open locks roll to open the locks, since I will not ever tell you what the DC is find or open something in OOC ever  . I said you need to make 28 separate rolls for looking for traps and opening the locks since there are 28 chests in all . So please just make 28 open locks rolls after if Sara tries to open them all and wanted to check for traps for each lock and/or on the chests themselves also before doing so .

So this is what you would do then .
Chest 1. I would need a search roll for a trap on the lock and then one for on the chest itself also if your character thought that would be a prudent course of action . Then Sara would have to make a open locks roll on the lock itself for that particular chest .
In this situation you can not take 20 on the search for traps though as taking 20 involves getting numbers from 1 to 20 in the course of taking 20 . And doing that while searching for traps would more than likely set off any traps in the process that are on an object . While just trying to open the locks rolls through taking 20 just means you did not get it that one time, but would eventually get it over time if your character is skilled enough .

Chest 2. 1 roll(Search Check) for looking for traps on the lock . 1 roll(Search Check) for looking for traps on the chest if Sara thinks that would be a good idea also .
Then 1 Opens Locks roll or taking 20 on this Open Locks also for total of 26 .

And with Chest 3 the same thing and so on for all the other chests in the room .

So please just edit or delete your in character post until we see what locks Sara may have opened with taking 20 and what traps Sara may or may not have found on looking for them on the locks themselves and/or particular chest too . :)

On Searching for traps on the locks and the chests . Sara find's none on searching any of the chests or locks so far #1 through #5 so far .

You are able to open all the locks on the chests, except for the first chest . That chest's lock is still not opened .
So chests #2 through #5 are able to be opened with there locks being opened .

By the way I thought you where going to take 20 on the Open Locks checks for the locks ?

Isidar takes 20 search check (while Sara is checking chests) to search the immediate area for signs of mining (the room w/bunks and hallway). 20+2+2=24 (stone cunning)

On the through search by Isidar, she finds that the work does not appear to be the work of mining . I will need Spellcraft check on Isidar part to confirm that some thing else entirely may have done the excavation .

As Sara's searching from traps on the chests will doubtless take several minutes to complete, Dalorna will take 20 to search the beds, as noted.

Sara's search for traps on chests and locks turns none up . She does manage to open the lock on the #12 chest though, while not opening any of the locks on the other chests in that set .

On a specific search of the beds, Dalorna just finds that it would be dangerous to someone health since the slat boards in the beds our rather rotted through by time apparently . When she lift out several of them they fall apart in Dalorna's hands on her search of the beds .

SOP for the dungeon crawl-

Seemingly empty room or dungeon area/hall/stairwell/etc.
• Sara always checks ahead of party for traps/hazards inside the room/hall with a take 20 search.
• Isidar moves near her and takes 20 to search for unusual stonework, stone traps, pits, slopes, sliding walls, etc. (stonecunning bonus applies)
• Dalorna watches with a take 20 on a spot check (bonus from familiar applies)
• Arnulf takes 20 on a listen check.
• Alia takes 20 on a listen check.
• Professor Huln takes 20 on a spot check.
• The multiple spot checks are ‘aimed’ in different directions, so that all angles and entrances are covered.
- Note- these actions overlap as much as possible, so that time is not wasted, and PCs busy searching, opening, and so on are not left unguarded.

Locked doors
• If she finds no traps, then Sara takes 20 to open.

Stuck door without any sign of traps/hazards
• Battered or pried open with a take 20 STR check from the strongest PC. If necessary, other PCs will actually roll STR checks, so that they may aid another and provide a bonus to the roll.

Traps
• If a trap is found, Sara will take 20 to disable device, unless circumstances to do not permit her to safely and carefully do so (monsters present, fire, other obvious danger, etc.)
Light-
• Dalorna and Professor Huln both carry light sources.

Marching order (subject to modification based on current tactical situation, space/area, and so on)
• Front rank: Sara and Isidar
• Middle rank Dalorna and Arnulf
• Rear rank Professor and Alia

Mapping- Dalorna takes 10 on a craft(drawing) check to add to the map after each room/hall. I request that the DM simply post additional/edxpanded map images as we go, whether on graph paper of hand-drawn on blank paper. This should also speed up play and reduce unnecessary confusion.
(In tabletop, we might see a battlemat, but that's not really an option here.)
