Why is Mikkleson going to give out copies of the report to everyone? Surely a father of the Fos would consider that Grunt Work?

Maybe it's an honour to those who had made the journey? A token of appreciation of the effort in time and money they put into it?

Ok. That makes sense.

BTW Sorry for being overly pedantic, Joel.

Ooops, second post. Somehow, the first was erased. Here's again:

Wrong, my dear!

This allocation of documents is a serious affair for the FoS and thus is supervised by a senior member:

- only FoS members will have a copy of it;

- all copies have a serial number, and the copy number given to whom is registered.

- remember, there is an esoteric/magical key to read the report, otherwise it's a travel book on Souragne.

- also, only senior members* will have the key to read the prologue, where Viktor mentions the encounter with Anton Misroi. You'll notice Misroi's name isn't known to the local people. It's a name of the past and only a few knows that Lord of the Dead = Anton Misroi.

* that includes all of you, except perhaps Crow who isn't trusted fully by the elders :)

That's it :)

No problem!

{gulp... :shock: }

Actually, FWIW, Crow probably couldn't care less about Misroi's real name: at least in his present amnesiac state, he honestly doesn't know very much about darklords, and likely wouldn't change his behavior much if he did. To him, it's the Dark Powers who are ultimately to blame for making the Land such a vale of tears, and opposing lesser villains -- even darklords -- is essentially a holding-action, not a solution.

That being said, your PC's referring to the "Lord of the Dead" as a person may very well get him thinking.... :wink:

@ Roti: Ger-truuude can read it but Crooow can't....nyah nyah...:P

@ Joel: I figured there had to be some kind of reason, and I love trying to guess what they are. For some reason, I'm often wrong; not that it stops me of course, especially in murder mysteries. :lol:

1.Nathan, Can you roll Sense Motive for Draxton (+10 total). Draxton suspects the man to be dabbling in necromancy. 2. Does he know him?

Also please note that in order to avoid this kind of messages after each and any post, you could consider that Draxton "evaluates" (so to speak) anyone asking about necromancy. Especially those that ask about it sideways as the Mordentish.

Draxton doesn't have enough to go on to get any idea of whether or not Dossevsky practices necromancy himself. Draxton does note (so does Crow) that his "polite" reply to Hazan is a subtle accusation that Hazan may be practicing such magics.
2. Does he know him?
Only by reputation. Natho Dossevsky is G'Hennan and the youngest Esteemed Brother in a generation or more; he's actually 21.

Hey all. I just noticed that the last cut scene was confused by the fact that two people's "words" were being given in white, when one of them should have been in grey. I couldn't get grey to work, so that Umbra's remarks are now in blue. That should make it a little clearer as to who is speaking to whom. Sorry 'bout that.

Afternoon thread open! MM, if you care to give a summary of your talk, that would be great. For everyone else, just say a little bit about how you're going to spend the afternoon; if you attend MM's talk you can have a bit of back-and-forth there, of course. Please feel free to do anything you need to to finish off the Morning thread, and on we go!

Are these talks running consecutively in the library, or concurrently in two different rooms? I'd kind of like Crow to sit in on Buchvold's lecture, but he has to attend Ananda's, given its topic. :?

If she must choose, Gert will be attending Buchvold's lecture. :)
