"Sure thing Sir" Thalar replies "We are a group of adventurer's just in case. We'll go join our friend for food now".
They go and have dinner and relax some by the fire. AFter a few weeks on the road the party has a well needed rest.
The trip to Shadowdale
The party sleeps in late for once, the they go downstairs to get breakfast, in some cases like Elvira's, 2 or 3!
"Thalar today might be a good day for me to start trying out my sword. More practice sounds in order. It is not that sunny but that does not matter, there is the forest not far from here you told us of, we can go there to continue my training." Brethana smiles to Thalar then goes back to her breakfast.
I am feeling more and more comfortable with the elvish blade every day. We did not get to practice so much on the road and travelling such distances can be tiresome
"Sure, Brethana, after breakfast we can head out and practice some more. Guys let's stay here for a few days, it's nice to stay in one place and rest our tired bodies. Maybe Elvira could start showing Brethana 2 handed swordmanship in the next few days?" Thalar looks around the Inn for the first time.
I wonder why there are no holy men in the city here, don't most cities have a church of some sort? Or at least some holy man? I find it a bit strange is all. I think as we leave for the forest we'll have a look around. Maybe Renad can look around too and get a different feel for the city than I can
Elvira talsk between bites, "Yeah I can show her while we are here. It is a good idea to stay a few days, and get a well earned rest. Hey Inovidil ya wanna go visit the city later? We can go see some nice jewelry or perfumes. Perhaps get something for Brethana at the perfume shop?" She giggles then winks at Inovidil.

"Yes, maybe you're right, but I want to ask a bit about the people who had disappeared. See you at louch" Says Renad and leaves.

Renad goes to the town and notices that there was an old temple of Lathander, but there was no sign of clerics there. Curious, he asks a woman who passed by him:
"Goodmorning, I'm new to your town and I has noticed that your temple has no clerics, may I ask why?"
The woman looks a bit puzzled Renad.
"Well, we are good that way."
"I'm a cleric myself madam and adventurer too, you can trust me. It's the first time at my lifetime I see a temple without priests."
The woman seems more calmed now so she says:
"Well, we do had two clerics here, but when the disappears have started they gonna found out what has happened. We don't see them again. We have asked to send us another priest. We have warned him to not go out of the city during the night. But 3 days later he has disappeared too. A guard has said that he has heard screams from his house. A week has passed from that and you arrives. You should pay very much attention sir"
Renad looks the woman astonished.
"May I ask you, how many people have disappeared till now and when this phenomenon has started?"
"Two months ago. They are been missing around 10 people. The dwarf from the armor shop, says that he has seen a shadow flying over the last cleric's house the night he has disappered. I think you should talk to him and to Pavil, the old man who lives by the river. He has heard some voices some nights ago too."
"Thank you for your precious information Madam. I'll speak to them" Says Renad.

"I do agree to ask around, of course Inovidil. I agree with you that something may have happened here in the past. When we go shopping later, I'll ask around discreetly. But not until I've had more breakfast!!!!" she giggles as she eats.

Once they get there, Thalar and Brethana take out their swords and practice. "Be patient Brethana, let your foe make the first move. Get used to fighting with a smaller blade. You have more mobility"
I think Brethana is trying too hard.
"Relax a little, remember the breathing exercises I taught you.".
Brethana stops then takes a deep breath. I need to concentrate. This isn't like fighting with a Great Sword at all. Come on Brethana.
Brethana gets a very serious look and nods to Thalar. "Ok, let's try again,Thalar."
They go on for at least 2 hours, then stop for a break.
"So Kel, what do you think? Is our friend Brethana improving?I think so.Just don't be in such a hurry , Brethana, and it will make more sense to you." Thalar reassures Brethana and winks at Kel "So Kel you sure you want to measure yourself against Brethana's greatsword, hmmm?"

Elvira doesn't hesitate "I'll shop with you, Inovidil. We look friendly enough"she giggles and winks, then belches loudly after her 3rd breakfast"Well excuse me!!!! That his the spot" as she pats her tummy. "Okay, Inovidil,let's hit the shops!" she gets up and as Inovidil gets up, they walk out together to the shops.

Brethana gets ready as Kel moves forward, her great sword in front of her. Her face a mask of seriousness, she fakes a swipe then dives and rolls, coming up on her feet at a better vantage point, she hopes. They spar for the better part of 2 hours as Kel gets the better fo Brethana most of the time, but she never gives up. Finally they stop for a break, sharing a waterskin.
"So Kel. Do you only fight with a great sword or more? I find myself attracted more and more to the elvish blade myself. It won't do as much damage as the great sword, but I can protect myself better and move, attack and protect myself so much easier. Thalar is a fine teacher and a good man" she blushes a little and sips the skin Kel handed her then hands it back.
Elvira and Inovidil enter a shop. Looking around Elvira admire the perfumes. Spying the shopkeeper, she approaches, smiling at her.
"Well met, madam. We are here to see for what kind of perfumes your fine shop has".
The shopkeeper eyes both Elvira and Inovidil. Well these 2 might buy some wares if I play my cards right. They look like they could use some perfume, maybe they'll attract a wealthy suitor
"Thank you and well met yourself, friend. Might I interest you in this ware here?" she reaches under the counter and brings out a bottle. "Here gve me your wrist." Elvira obliges and the keeper spritzes some on Elvira's wrist.
"Smell this". she says.
Elvira sniffs it and finds she likes it. "Hey Ino, take a whiff of this, it's pleasant, maybe Brethana might like it as well" she giggles.
"Ok ma'am I'm sold" Elvira says as she slides a few gold coins across the counter.
The keeper's eyes go wide at the gold and it quickly disappears in her hand.
"I noticed that there weren't many people at the Inn last night. We are staying at the Roaring Boar not far from here. Is that normal for this time of year? Isn't this usually a busy season for most cities? Waterdeep is teeming with people right now, we just got here from there actually." Elvira gauges the keepers reaction.
The keeper swallows hard, looks around as if frightened of something, then whispers "Yes you are right, the city is not that busy. I feel like I can trust you, thanks to your donation. A few months ago my friend the priest,Pietro, diappeared with out a trace. NOw that is kind of odd. But then Lathander sent 2 priests to investigate. All went well until one night they disappeared as well a few weeks ago. The church hasnt sent anyone yet, and the city is growing afraid. As well the other night,we heard screams from the house of the priests. And people are afradi to go out at night as we hear strange noises. The dwarf from the armor shop, Norzak, says he has seen a dark creepy shadow flying over the cleric's house. You know dwarves, they dont scare easy. Norzak seems to be afraid to go out of his house." the shopkeeper looks around nervously. "Ive told you enough, you can go now." She ushers the girls out and closes the door behind her, a closed sign appearing in the doorway.
"That was odd, Inovidil. Why is she so scared? People disappear all the time, don't they? Well normal people anyways. So a few clerics have disappeared. Maybe we should investigate further. Thet woman seemed afraid of something. What do you think, Inovidil?"

"I agree. She seems very scared and I doubt that have disappeared only these three. You remember the words of the innkeeper, he has tried to warn us too. It seems it's very dangerous go out during the night. If there is something outthere that can harm priests of Lathander think what can do to the pour commoners. Come, lets finish our tour to the shops and then go back to the inn. I want to speak with Renad. But first we will go to find this dwraf Norzak. Are you with me?"

"Yes I'm with you, Inovidil. It never hurt to window shop either" Elvira giggles a little.
After going to a few shops and getting pretty much the same information they did from the prefume woman, they go off to Norzak's workplace. It's a very hot and musky place as the forge is running already.
"Yeah what canna do for ye ladies today?" asks a dirty filthy dwarf from behind the forge, wiping soot frlom his face with a dirty gloved hand.
"Well friend we were told you heard some noises frlom the priest house and you saw some bcreature flying over it as well. Is that true? We're adventurer's and there's a few pints of brew in it for ya if'n ya tell us what ya know,pal" Elvira says to him.
He frowns a moment then speaks"A few pints, bah!!!!I'll do it fer free ya mangy halfwoman!" he laughs a little.
"Yeah I seen it a few times, thsi flying beastie, looked like a huge bat or something ta me. And every time the people disappear I seen it. Not much folk pass thru here since this been happinin. I guess word gets around fast. Them clerics sure didnt last long come to think of it. They disappeared fastern I kin drink a tankard, lassie" He says with a wink"Or me name t'aint Norzak!!!!!!" he guffaws. "Yup well I'm busy cant ya see, ifn ya want anything lemme know I got's a nice axe Im makin meself!"

As they walkning back, Kel says:
"You do great job with Brethana Thalar. I'm stronger yes, but she moves faster than me and I bet that if she learns to use the elven blades in order to protect herself while attacking, she can beat me."
Then Kel turns to Brethana:
"As about your earlier question, I can use all weapons, but I prefer my great sword. I can deal much more damage with it and I know a tecnique that if I kill someone, I can attack to a next target. Do you remember our encounter with the orcs, I have killed two with one slash. This tecniique is difficult but I bet you can learn it.
