For fun I thought I'd do one of my original NPCs, The Blue Lady. (The graceful yet paranoid bodygaurd of Ivan Dilisyna.)

Wow. She carries a SCYTHE?! Cool.

It's due to their relation to death (mainly from her "death" when she was five).

Isn't Lady Kazandra's hair auburn? That's a nice pic, but the color just doesn't look right for her; it should be a darker red, like blood.

The same also goes for Kara Tolyana; she has auburn hair, too. Sorry if I sound whiny, but I have a thing for red hair.

I thought auburn was more of blondish red so went with that.

No, auburn is reddish-brown or light brown by definition. Sometimes it takes on a slightly more red hue, but that's a variation of pigment based on physical health and diet. I imagine Kazandra especially would lean more towards a red hue because she's a vampire (not because blood is red but because it's a rich source of benzothiazine, a molecule that attributes to pheomelanin, the red pigmentation in skin and hair).

My mistake then.
