Hazlan, Land of Monsters OOC
Re: Hazlan, Land of Monsters OOC
Perhaps in light of Vasili Boritsi, it should be this:
"No, but evil is still being — Is having reason — Being reasonable! Mousie understands? Is always being reason. Is punishing world for not being... Like in head. Is always reason. World should be different, is reason."

I don't know if anyone else will get it, but the song that makes me think of Vasili is Some Nights by FUN.

I always thought he was saying "gospel", which makes no sense at all now that I think about it. But yeah, that fits!

As long as we are making obscure musical jokes, here's to House Jarenberg:

A veritable opening concert... or volley, depending on how you think of it.

Ah! Windy Mordent!
(The Whistler once had an excellent song for Mordent: unfortunately he marked it as "Alder's Crossing Theme" and not, well, the actual name of the song.)
(Edit: aHA!

Isabella, I'm still trying to understand the Blackwoods. This prologue is interesting. Are prophetic dreams common to them, or to Richard himself? Very curious.

*puts finger to lips* shhhhh
Well, more to the point, having Darius in his head is something that was engineered by Darius, I suspect (or at least Darius' evil possessed doppelganger, or something). Richard does have some other issues with dreams. Likely more will come out during the prologue. And if not, it'll no doubt come out later.
When it's most inconvenient.

To make my own contribution to our growing musical salvo...
I suspect Lena's superiors won't appreciate it, but this always comes to mind: The Transylvania Mania. Really, all of Young Frankenstein is great.
Isabella recommends this for Barovia, Shadows of Darkness -- Mordavia. Nice mood music.
Experienced players of mine may also recognize this: The Riddle, which rather hints at Lena's ethos. She's not quite that cold, but on a bad day, perhaps.
And finally, the Bard Anthem, as sung by Neil Patrick Harris: The Music Meister

Here's my vote for the campaign theme song:
I think it's just that I'm a lyrics man myself. The words have to really relate.
Wasteland Concept? Check
Apocalypse? Check
Welcome to the New Age? Double check
Reluctant Revolution? Check
Painted Red to Fit In? Check
Seems like a winner to me!

I've been trying to make a youtube playlist/soundtrack of our campaign musical barrage, but youtube isn't letting me:

Re: Hazlan, Land of Monsters OOC
Some of the lyrics are exactly backwards (well, for some PCs, anyway; Richard and Elena might be pining for the lowlands) but the mood of the song is apropos.

Re: Hazlan, Land of Monsters OOC
Hello! I am alive! Sorry, I am really slow for some reason. But I have things for show!
First we have Altan Isfahani!
Red "Wizard" (he's really a sorcerer but arcane magic is arcane magic so he wears the red), born under the sign of the Displacer Beast, Isfahani cousin, etc.
Spell list!
1st-level
Bungle
Silent Image
Moment of Greatness
Magic Missile
Charm Person*
??????
2nd-level
Alter Self
Glitterdust
Invisibility*
* denotes a bloodline spell (cannot be changed)
I am open to suggestions for another 1st-level. I had Grease but Nathan said Conjuration magic is very difficult to cast where Altan would have grown up, so I nixed it for now. Altan is really meant to be a talky sort of guy anyway, and this, I am told, is low-combat so I'm not too worried about combat-readiness.

Re: Hazlan, Land of Monsters OOC
Some first level spells of interest:
Identify (What is this doohickey? We're in a Land of Mages, probably useful)
Comprehend Languages (Ravenloft has quite a few, though since we'll be staying in one place this might not be important -- still, Translator Mage)
Feather Fall (Rarely needed, but when you need it you need it)
Memory Lapse (...for when we inevitably botch a Bluff roll)
Mage Armor (AKA -- Die Less)
