On Zilfer Shouting a Watch out every one can roll init check that has not yet done so to see if they do can do something before the spiders can attack, etc .

Huln will draw his dagger and stick to the rear of the party if he hasn't already done so. Also since we fast forwarded I am assuming we had a.chance to prepare spells?

. And I usually describe how you hit as I know if your character is going to hit or not .
Oh I did not see a damage bonus added to that roll and a barbarian can go into his rage as a free action on there turn . If you wanted to you could before Arnulf attacked, but it would not matter in this case for the damage and HP Bonus from increased Con .
Yeah, i was being a bit sarcastic. First roll being a horrible roll. xD I'll resist from saying whether I hit or not, which is why i left it a vague mention that the throw didn't 'feel right' as he slung it out there. The damage from a sling doesn't have any bonus' to damage, like most ranged weapons right?

In 3.5 you do add your strength bonus to damage rolls with slings as per page 9 of the PHB . It is added to damage rolls with both melee and thrown weapons(including Slings) .
And To all Spell Casters:
You have had time to prepare spells since this the next day after the first exploration of the mine and your leveling up to 2nd level for all except for Arnulf as he is on slightly slower Exp Chart . Please submit to me list by PM of Prepared spells if you have not done so already

.

spot check

Not seeing the spider, but forewarned, she turns her horse around and rides away from the grove. She rides moves thirty feet (mounted) and
delays action.

So actions having being declared is fine . 5 foot step is not needed unless you just want to get little farther away from where the spiders are in front of the Party as Sara is in the lead as always as a scout as usual .
All party members can take actions before the spiders can, but the spiders are not flat footed to Sara or anyone else in the party for that matter because they were in wait for food to come within range of there attacks from the trees .
In order of who goes first:
Sara at 21 .
Huln at 17 .
Arnulf at 12 .( he goes before because base init bonus is higher than Alias)
Alia at 12 .
Dalorna at 11 .
Isidar at 10 .
The spiders at 8 .
Go head and declare* if you have not done so and by the way it is at least another hour of travel to the mines beyond the trees that the spiders are up in . The game trail goes through the small grove of trees by the way . Other useful tactical information is that I as DM Assume that Huln and Dalorna are in the back the party with either with walking side by side or in single file, but going single file does not become needed until walking through on the game trail into the grove .
Last marching Order I got is Sara,Arnulf,Isidar, and Alia with Dalorna and Huln Bringing up the rear .
Sara was about to to walk on into the game trail when Huln and Arnulf Spot spiders readying to attack those that walk under them into the grove .
*If you wish to change some declared action because of the at least 1 hour travel time to the mines you can at this time . Just edit your post .

Sara is in front of the spiders? She will get an AoO if she draws rapier?
If yes she will tumble outside the threatening area and use her guns.
If no she will draw the rapier and the dagger and then move to flank a spider with Arnulf.
Since the spider hasn't taken an action she has sneak attack.

AoO when drawing a weapon is when you don't have a +1 to base attack. If I recall rules correctly, which I'm 95% sure on at this moment.

Everytime you draw a weapon in front of a monster or someone having a weapon out you get AoO, doesn't depend on base attack. At least this is how I have played 3rd and 3.5 over the years. If I'm wrong I will be only happy bcz can do same thing at other games as well
Since Sara is a rogue she doesn't want to get the AoO that's why if drawing the rapier an the dagger will provoke one she will just get out of the way (with tumble to avoid AoO) and shoot with the guns

Here's a link for you to look at... Particularly Actions during combat.
http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Action ... _in_Combat
It says....
Draw a weapon*4 No
And another note....
If you have a base attack bonus of +1 or higher, you can combine one of these actions with a regular move. If you have the Two- Weapon Fighting feat, you can draw two light or one-handed weapons in the time it would normally take you to draw one. *4
And that is SRD. So yeah I was slightly wrong. You can draw your weapon without an AoO. However Sheathing a weapon provokes an AoO, which I've no idea why you'd want to do that in the middle of battle anyways. The +1 I thought you had to have was just for drawing a weapon and moving in the same action and then attacking with your standard action.
