Maybe Gem can help us find a dog, also we can try near the inn, stray dogs use to go where food is

Dog finding roll
One in six chance of finding a stray dog who will consume the treated food, being able to observe the reaction, and doing all that without long delays.

Re: POVERO Campaign OOC
Result
: 1-3 no dog found
: 4 stray dog Smatches meat and runs away afterward
5: rats steal the food and run down a hole
6 : Gem gets hungry and eats it
(Animal handling roll possible)

Okay, so the testing plan has failed for now.

Re: POVERO Campaign OOC
Alright, the party, or at least some members, blow four hours running after stray dogs, trying to test the sleeping treatment.
Given the length of time involved, I will roll on the " why it did not work" table again.

Rats stole it!
Those pesky rats.
I am presuming you only used a portion for testing, not the entire (small) supply.

Re: POVERO Campaign OOC
Okay, I gave a few rolls, including a spot check to notice any strays near the inn, seperate from the active hunt roll.
(The "Stray dog snatches food and runs" outcome would have allowed for a trailing/ tracking/ chase roll to follow or catch the doggie, allowing another chance at success.)
I've updated the final post of the last chapter to show what happened.
Now, anybody ready for the next chapter?

Re: POVERO Campaign OOC
Given that you guys are burning four hours, I feel like once more chance is only fair:
Chance of catching or finding the rats after they gobble the sample 1in 6
Shoots up to 3 in 6 if Tom makes a handling roll to get Gem to sniff them out.
Handling...

Alright, the plan has failed.
Gem loses the rats. The effect, if any, of the treated portion on them remains a mystery.
