Ixevim wipes off the ichor of the man's brain from his tentacles. He has spent an hour using psionic manipulation like a hammer on this minor noble. He has learned much, but it was dangerous allowing this man to live. Also this man has been in the "celebration" that greeted Ixevim's party when they entered the Palace. He was drinking and being indulged in carnal pleasures like an animal near the tortured corpses of Ivana's followers. He deserved his fate.
Ixevim, before finishing the man off, he had him tell his guard and his servants that he was feeling sick and that he would sleep the rest of the day. He asked them not to bother him until midnight, when he would be prepared to go to the fest.
Ixevim moved the bed, put a heavy cloak on the floor like a pillow, put the corpse on the cloak, and decapitated it. The cloak was soaked in the noble's blood, but didn't let a pool of blood spread on the floor. He wrapped the bloody skull in a blanket and put the bed back hiding the corpse. He used his mind probing abilities to check the exit for any bystanders and soon he was out.
Ixevim levitated a few feet and hid the noble's head on a roof, behind a chimeny, so that it wouldn't fall and also couldn't be seen from below. Then he went back to Lord Rechio's rooms, asking to see him.
OOC> Ixevim's high intelligence means he can easily hide a head from sight on a roof without being seen. Also Lord Rechio is still charmed and Ixevim would pay him a visit and see if he can use Lord Rechio's guards to his benefit.
OOC2> Nice "I'm a jaded soldier" line Wiccy!

Kimuriel can’t help his smile at Heinrich’s comment about the undead and the magic user. But becomes serious soon after and says:
“I’m quite sure that will be the same Pieter. But you can never know what to expect when is a magic user around.”
Noticing Heinrich’s grimace, the half-elf asks with low voice:
“Have you heard anything? If yes, it’s better hiding. No one should find us here.”
With that Kimuriel looks around to find a place to hide.

Heinrich, mostly out of instincty and years of battle reached down and pulled the blade at his hip partly from the scabbard. He kept looking about at their surroundings.
"I am not certain, I thought I had heard something but it may have been nothing. You finish what you must, I will keep watch."

"I've finished, we can go."
Kimuriel remains silent for a moment and then adds:
"I'll make us invisible, so we can pass more easily. But you should try to make less noise while walking. It's better also if we walk in close distance, so there will be no chance to miss each other."
With that Kimuriel concentrates and touches first Heinrich's chest and then himself. Both adventurers become invisible.
"Go first Heinrich, I'll be behind you" Says Kimuriel with low voice.

"Very well."
Heinrich turns and starts forward at a slow pace to keep the level of noise from his passage down, the last thing he wanted was for their presence to be discovered, should there be someone, or some thing out there.

Kimuriel before starting moving concentrates and touches his chest, a traslucent matter covers him. Feeling more safe with his inertial barrier, the half-elf follows Heinrich's pace. He makes almost no noise while walking and pays very much attention in order to listen or to see anything.

Ixevim spends time trying to locate Rechio but to no avail. It seemed the Lord had almost disapeared. After asking a few questions he decides a more direct route is a better course of action.
Looking into one of the Lord's own personel servants he sees the mental image of a pot bellied man in tuxedo having the Lord dragged away. The servant indeed thought Rechio dead for disapearences like his seldom ended with one's employer coming back.

Ixevim went rigid. He used his telepathic powers to their full extend to adress Artemis. He just hoped that the diplomat was in telepathy contact range.
"My machinations were probably discovered. The portly noble I put under my command yesterday is missing. He is either dead or abducted."

After a couple of hours, Heinrich and Kimuriel turn to their room in manor. They haven't encountered any enemy, only some rats. Probably their noise had heard Heinrich, thought Kimuriel.
As they return, Kimuriel goes out in order to find some servants and gather any possible details about the ball, the guards and the possible exits they can use to escape. The detective has no problem to get the answers he wants without creating any suspicions.
Then, he heads back at their room, where the others wait him.

Heinrish stood to the side of the room, watching things closely, he was not willing to take chances, especially after the assassination attempt and Artemis' actions against Roger. He had donned his chain shirt, sword and mercy dagger before setting out with Kimuriel and the weapons still rested at his hips. He lent against the wall smoking one of his hand-rolled cigarettes, it hung out the side of his mouth streaming smoke into the air. He looked to Kimuriel as he entered and nodded a greeting but did not move beyond that.
His mind, though on the task at hand was troubled by other thoughts, those that involved Nostalia and those concerned him. She made him feel alive again like he hadn't felt in years. He felt younger and stronger and he was dreading that his mind was betraying the memories of his dead family.

There was no reply from Artemis. He probably was more than 100' away. Ixevim pndered for a minute if Artemis was somehow involved in this disappearance of Lord Rechio.
Artemis J Ardent was a riddle. He was as older than Borca from his appearance he should be about 30 year older than Ivana Boritsi, the spider that had pulled them all in this situation. The system that Humans decided to as a goverment was amazing in its stupidity in Ixevim's mind. Not the more intelligent, not the more wise, not even the strongest or oldest that some primitive races used. Just one that was descendant of the previous ruler!
And now they were helping one such ruler take back her throne from an usurper. Since this Lord Pieter was far worse than Ivana Boritsi, they have to put an end to his reign, but Ixevim couldn't help himself from regreting that the alternative was the Black Widow.

Eventually the time passes and Ixevim realizes he must get back to the others. Once he is closer to the meeting room he tries to re-establish a link with Artemis -his silence had disturbed the mindflayer.
This time the diplomat did answer, finally being within range.
"We must continue in anycase. Rechio did not know of our true plans at this time and thus I think it is safe to continue. However I am disturbed that they found him out -assuming they did, perhaps our inner spy has revealed some of our secrets again. I think it best not to tell the others, act as if we dont know anything and play dumb. A false sense of security for the traitor will be valuable to us."
It did not escape the ilithid's mind that Artemis could just be trying to shut Ixevim up from telling the others -if Artemis had given Rechio up.
Moment later Ixevim enters the room he and his compatriots had agreed to meet in. Kimuriel and Heinrich were already there and it was 10 minutes later that Artemis appeared.

Ixevim while waiting for Artemis decided to not tell anything to the others. Perhaps he would tell Kimuriel about the disappearence later. As Ixevim sensed Artemis approaching, he started sending them a telepathic report.
"The meeting is very important. Outsider travellers will be there concerning something Lord Pieter is keeping quiet about. I have also heard that the room is being tested for scrying devices and other such magical methods. Propably there will be a few more defences against supernatural powers and magic but I couldn't test the room without being discovered. I would attract attention even if I went there. Lord Pieter seems to be leaving nothing to chance."
Ixevim also send his companions the mental images of the guards he has under his control and which corridors should remain unlocked.

After listening carefully Ixevim, Kimuriel tells by his turn what he has learnt about Pieter, and especially that his body is missing for more than 80 years. Then, he makes a small pause and addressing Ixevim and Artemis, asks:
“Well, both of you have more experience about magic than me, so I suppose you can have a better explanation about that. What do you think?”
