The door next to Shana opens and Ironheart steps out,
naked as a baby, sweating, and visibly annoyed.

"WHO DARES TO DISTURB MY PEACE!?"

The barbarian's words are given considerably more
weight since he holds a giant double axe in his right hand,
one of the size trolls and ogres would carry into battle...

OOC: Sorry for being AWOL this weekend. Family errands took up more time than expected.

storeroom

The skulking little gnome springs into action as Delthrin gets out of his chair in the next room. Before the magus reaches the door, Threan races across the floor and leaps onto the window sill. He deftly unlatches the window, just as the door connecting the office and storeroom begins to swing open...

One of the scarf wearing men steps in, followed by Delthrin bearing a lamp.

They find the room empty, the window shutters open.

Outside, Threan scrambles up the brick wall as nimbly as a monkey, swiftly moving the the top of the building. From there, the gnome makes his way across the rooftops, running as fast as he can.

Delthrin sends his henchmen to search the area, but Threan is too small, too quiet, and too swift. He's made good on his escape- at least for now.
Delight is to him- a far, far upward, and inward delight- who against the proud gods and commodores of this earth, ever stands forth his own inexorable self.

the brothel-

At the sight of the naked, sweaty, and well armed Ironheart bursting forth from his room in a near-rage, most of the house immediately panics. Women shriek and run away, men dive under tables or rush towards the door. The brothel is plunged into chaos!

Shana is nearly knocked to the floorboards by an over-hasty john who's making a beeline for the back door.

The Madam appears in her upstairs doorway, takes one look at Ironheart, and then begins shouting to her bouncers [who are busy trying unsucessfully to manage the fearful crowd]- :

''What else do I pay you slugs for? Get up here at once, and restrain that idiot before he breaks something!''

Ironheart eyes the Madam with the look of a hungry tiger.

"Shana. Get up. - You others, come if you dare. But I will crush you."

Alain moves down the fog-draped street alone. The night air is perhaps a bit chilly for the summer, but not truly cold. No one else is in sight [not that he can see very far away, ten yards at most]. His footfalls are softened by the damp, muffled and indeed almost swallowed by the fog. Somewhere, perhaps not far away, frogs are singing their deep throated night-songs. The only light is that of the pallid waning moon, cutting through the misty atmosphere and giving enough illumination that a man can walk with lessened risk of stumbling into a sewer ditch or canal.

As Alain walks along, he soon becomes aware of a clattering sound coming from behind him, like wheels on cobblestones. Soft footfalls are just barely audible over the rolling din and Alain may, if he strains his ears, detect a very soft sound of breathing.
Removing a quill pen from his jacket and reciting a quaint poem to himself, Alain causes the feathered pen to bring forth light from seemingly out of nowhere.
He then scans the area in which he perceived the noise coming from, straining his eyes if need be, and making sure his is not standing in the middle of the road for any passing coach to run him over.

As Ino begins to drift up the shaft, she [and everyone else with her] hears an agonized wailing coming from one of the upper openings of the shaft. The screams sound like nothing human.

By his magical light, Alain can see what has been following him: a pretty teenage girl pushing a handcart. The cart is covered with a piece of duck cloth. The girl smiles at him.

''Out late, aren't you?''

The brothel-

Three burly bouncers, all in leather jacks and armed with stout clubs, come bounding up the lefthand stairs[ the right side is blocked by fleeing whores] to attack Ironheart!

The three men quickly surround Ironheart and attempt a coordinated onslaught. The first man misses entirely, the second hits Ironheart a glancing blow across the right arm, and the third man manages to strike the barbarian right on his crown!

Ironheart instantly counterattacks with his great axe, chopping clean through the first bouncer's club and into his lower face. The man falls to the floor, wailing piteously through the red ruin that had lately been his mouth.

Ironheart tugs the axe free and spins around, panther-quick, to attack another foe with the other side of the great axe-head, striking his target in the chest. THUNK- CRACKLE! The Man's chest now hangs open from collarbone to diaphraghm. Broken rib ends stick out of a cavernous gap in the torso, through which hangs a ripped mass of lung tissue. The gravely wounded man falls onto his back.

Only one bouncer remains, and he is already turning to flee...

at the Frogwife-

Cross-face replies to 'Mikhal.'

''Pleased to meet you. My name is Donal, rightly so, but the lads call me Cross-Face. No doubt but you can guess the reason why. Ha!''

The scarred man looks up with a smile at the serving wnech who rbings a platter stacked high with food and drink for your table.

''Ah, good, good...''

He hands the girl a short stack of silver coins in payment, when sends her off with a smack across her rump.

''You want more work, eh, Mikhal? Well...if you can keep quiet when needed and take orders with no trouble, I have a good job for you. ''

Rardi tries to fly faster towards the sound they've heard, hand gripping her mace tightly. The other touches her holy symbol, reassuring the dwarf and calming her nerves. "Lend me an me companions yer strength, Morninglord" she whsipers to herself. Her dwarvish eyes probe the darkness as she flies closer to the inhuman sounds.

Uttering a prayer up to Lathander "Show me evil and vileness, Lathander," she concentrates slightly, and casts Detect Evil to accompany her already cast Protection from Evil spell.

below Blackpillars-

Rardi reaches the uppermost of three openeings in the shaft. This one is a near-lightless corridor that runs about twenty feet and ends in a closed door. A little yellowish light escapes through the cracks around the door frame. The terrible, monstrous noise begins anew, and Rardi can definitely tell that it's coming from the other side of that door.

Ironheart shrugs, and, whipping the blood from his body,
turns to the Madame.

"Get better bouncers. Or more, for that respect.
- So, what's the matter? - Leave my friend here" - waves towards Shana -
"in peace and unharmed, or I'll skin you like a ferret."
