The door seems untrapped. It is of light wood, like an internal house door. Beyond, through a crack, seems to be a well appointed if slight dusty hall, with wood panelled walls, comfortable looking leather chairs and a polished table on which is set a few objects including several papers

Turning to the others whispers:
"I'm opening it, if isn't locked of course then will sneak in, you can follow me if you want but try to be as silent as you can, we don't know if there is anyone in there or nearby.
Catherine tries to open the door as silent as she can.

Gorn will follow Catherine inside and look around. The papers interest him the least. "Hey is dis someone's home? Catherine, kin yer read? I don't." The caliban looks at the rest of the room. He turns and looks at scarred man. "Hey, does yer speak Mordentish? Cuz I don't unnerstand yer at all. Dun think she does either. Hey" he taps his chest and says his name slowly so the man will hopefully understand "G-o-o-o-r-r-nn," and smiles. Then he approaches the man and points at the scar "What is that? It looks like a chicken."

Helfried tenses up a bit. Apparently he had somehow ended up awakening in some dank hall with foreigners of some sort. Was he captured during patrols? He couldn't quite think straight.
The raven haired woman is gesturing for him to be silent, though she does it in a strange way he had seen foreign prisoners do when they were attempting to keep secrets from their guards. Though no one really keeps secrets from the guards. He gets the point and keeps his noise discipline .
The big...thing also gestures for him to remain silent. What is it? It looks like it could be a man but yet not. It is far too big. And his eyes...red. He was confused.
Helfried eyes narrow as the big thing makes a simple gesture indicating itself and identifies itself as "Gorn" To which the warrior replies after a brief yet tense pause with a clenched fist too his chest, "Helfired." The creature approaches him to which Helfried responds by standing in a defensive posture. When the creature gestures to his brand Helfried merely screws up his eyes. No doubt the hawk brought fear to enemies like these and no doubt the creature was saying something degrading out of false pride. Helfried would see if he was so proud once he was put to the stake. All the proud foreigners were put to the stake.
He then looks away from the beastly thing towards to more captivating creature by the door way. Foreign women were always so clean. He nods in her direction indicating her to continue to do what she was planning to do, whatever it may be. He readies his shield and battle axe and prepares to follow.

The small group steps through the shimmering blue and through the door beyond. To their right, a flight of stairs leads upwards. Ahead, another wooden door leads onwards. To the left is a much heavier door, with a large brass handle and a small window which lets in a stream of sunlight, and the sounds of a busy street. Behind them, the door they have just come through leads to a pleasant, if dusty, sitting room with a red carpet and floral pattern settees and chairs.
Of the dark, stone, cobwebbed crypt there is no sign at all.
On the table is a bundle of papers, three rings of brass keys and a letter addressed to "Master Helfried and Mistress Catherine"

"Really weird."
Says Catherine as looks around. When she makes sure that they are safe in the room gets the letter and her eyes go wide as notices their names there. Turning to Helfierd points at herself and says:
"Catherine."
Then goes to the window and looks carefully outside hoping to get an idea where they are. Turning to Gorn says:
"Can you take a look upstairs and see if is anyone there?"
Then reads the letter and when is done points the letter, then Halfried and then the letter again.

"Hey, sure thing toots. Let the main man have a look upstairs. Do ya think he worships chickens? I dun think he getted that scar in a scrape. Looks like someone burned a chicken on 'is head. Awright, Imma go see upstairs." Gorn takes the stairs one at a time, alert to signs of trouble. "Wonder whut she seen through tha window. An where's dat mook from? Don't everyone speak tha same languidge?"

Looking whence the group came, Helfried suddenly feels a rise in panic as the crypt they exited is no longer there! He whirls about and studies the current room intently expecting more surprises. He crosses the room to have a look out the small window at the busy street. This was too much for anyone to comprehend.
Helfried nods in understanding as the woman introduces herself and ,understanding the futility of trying to speak, takes the letter when Catherine has finished reading it.

The Letter: legible, oddly enough, to both intended recipients
Sir and Ma’am
It is my honour and my pleasure to be the first to welcome you to your new abode. I hope and believe that you will find 27 Charity Street most suitable for your needs. I have provided three rings of keys in addition to the one already held by your agent, these three including the keys to the rooms and to the cabinets as well as the outer doors.
I have taken the liberty of retaining a gardener, Mr William Hammond, a man of excellent repute and noted skill. As you may be aware the maintenance of a food producing garden is mandatory in this city. Number 27 has a side gunnel so there is no need for him to enter the house. He holds the keys to the gunnel gate and the roof stairs.
Should Madam Catherine require further domestic help, we can arrange for the engagement of checked and trustworthy staff. I regret to say that it may prove difficult to engage live-in help owing to the baseless and undeserved reputation that the house has developed in the inflamed imaginations of the superstitious and credulous, among whom the servant class are almost uniformly numbered. Day service, however, should be easy to arrange.
I have also left permits for your weapons (which must be peace bonded within the city, as you will have been informed on your arrival) so you can pick these up from the docks where you will have left them. I have also included a city permit for your Caliban, so he may also be summoned. He should carry it at all times while in the main city, and it would be best if one of you were to accompany him as you will be responsible for his actions.
I gather that your agent will be leaving the city after your arrival. Should you have any further requirements, please do not hesitate to repair to Witherington & Wolbert, Solicitors at Law, 7 Jakeflow Street and enquire for;
Your obedient servant;
James Witherington MA

The front window reveals a reasonably crowded street, paved and with a roadway and footway on either side, in the process of being drenched by a steady rain. The people seem resigned to the weather and are walking, gossiping, trading and arguing with only mild signs of irritation.
Out of the stairs window can be seen a vegetable garden being similarly drenched. The stairs lead up to a landing with three doors off it, which on inspection prove to be locked. They contin ue up to an upper floor with a slightly sloping ceiling. The drumming of the rain is loud here. There are four small bedrooms; little more than a bed, shelves and just enough room to open the door; and a locked door that seems to lead out onto the roof.

Catherine reads the letter a couple of times and surprised noticed that Helfierd can read it as well even if she read it in Mordentish.
"There is magic involved in here that's sure and where is magic use to be troubles..." Says to herself.
The letter says nothing of where is that house, how they got there and who got them. Also mentioned an agent but they have seen nobody yet.She overpassed the fact that will have a gardener for now and concentrated more at the fact of the "live-in help". For sure she didn't like to have servants in her own house but if were constracts she could live with it. Scartching her head turns to Helfried and waves her hand pointing the room they were, the back room where they woke up and the cieling.
Cat goes to the table gets one of the keys and put it in her pocket, reads the papers to be sure that were indeed those needed for the caliban and then starts searching the whole house room by room. If any door is locked will open it.

Helfried looks again at the doorway they came from and back to Catherine. "Der Raum, den wir soeben gekommen sind nicht mehr da ist!" He says in a deep growl lined with concern. "Ah! was nützt! keiner von Ihnen beiden Ausländer verstehen kann ein einziges Wort sage ich!" He throws his arms up in frustration and letting go a long sigh. After grabbing one of the sets of keys he then gestures at the letter pointing at what looks to be a random section and then points outside. "Die Docks? Wir sollen jemanden an den Docks treffen."

As searching the room Catherine sees Halfried talking, she doesn't understand what exactly he says but knows that is about the room they came from and says:
"Poof!" She accomplained her word with a gesture.
"I guess there was a magic trick."
At his gesture points at hersefl and then the whole house and starts searching again. Then says:
"Docks later." She moves her hand as a sign to indicate later.

As searching Catherine replies to Gorn:
"Ah yes, these are keys for our rooms and the papers are permits for our weapons and for you to free stay at the city. You should always carry both permits with you Gorn and have peace nod at your weapons. As about why and how we got here, well this is what I'm searching right now. More clues or anything else important anyway. Apparently who ever got us here had a pretty good reason and considering that the room that we have passed before has disappeared or changed I think a wizard or magic user is invloved. In any case since we are here better try to get along with each other and cooperate. This guy Halfried doesn't speak our language, but for the brand hawk at his forehead I can tell you that is a soldier, a talon actually if you have ever heard them. He is from Falkovia and is dedicated to his land and its ruler. I don't know much about Falkovia but I do know that talons are determinated and rather cruel, they are ready to die serving their land. That's why I'm that surprised Halfried is here, hope we can have some talk after finish searching the house and try to compare our histories, where we were and what we were doing till get in here."
When Catherine is speaking about Halfried and Falkovia tries to make sure that her tone of voice is proud and not sound as mocking him, talons or Falkovia as land.
