Jarg and Renad talk as they walk about the town of Hluthvar. Renad learns that Jarg is from far eastvof where they are but nothing more than that he left many years ago and hasnt looked back since. Some things best remain unsaid Jarg tells him.
As they walk Jarg touches Renad's arm and says "See that boy over there?" he looks over to a dirty boy begging on the corner of a street. "That is a halfling and he is just there to gather information.Not everything is at it seems sometimes. You will see many of these little "things" all around Hluthvar if you pay close attention, Renad. We need to be very discreet here, as the "town" has eyes and ears everywhere. I presume you have heard of Darkhold?"he asks Renad.
All during the morning they walk around and make small talk amongst themself as well as the merchants and townspeople. They do not get any ineteresting information and Jarg tells Renad " It is our first day here I did not expect to find any useful information. Not to wrry this afternoon might prove different as well as the evening. I Know an Inn on the other side of town called the Lusty Wench, which we might find information about many things, if you are interested. Even though you worship Pelor it does not mean you can't have a little relaxation and fun once in a while'" he syas to Renad with a wink.
The trip to Shadowdale
"Pelor doesn't have that problems, we can do whatever we want since we follow his lead. But I will not follow you there, I don't like such places. They are dirty and there are many... little boys there that try to make you drunk and steal your purse. Ask Kel, he has lost money several times. As about women, I prefer steady relationships you know, not just a... night stand. Yes, this isn't a place for me. I'll ask if there is a Pelor temple here if not I'll continue my walk around the city adn then go back to the inn. I'll see you there Jarg and... keep yourself out of troubles."

Jarg smiles to himself "Of course Renad,no problems. I thought it would be polite to invite you is all. And yes there is a Temple of Pelor not far from here. Go down the street and after the second street, go east. The temple will be there,friend." He nods to Renad as renad goes off.

Not mush is going on inside but Jarg does notice a "little one" at the bar. Getting up he moves towards the bar even as he recognises the halfling "Rollo".
"So pal, how goes it this fine day?" JArg says as he sits at he bar next to Rollo and smiles coldly at him. "I'm in town for a few days now. Have you any news I might find interesting,friend?". He sits back.
Looking around nervously, Rollo sighs, sits up then down. He looks at Jarg "Long time you've been here, dark one. I hear you keep company with some surface dwellers now, how quaint of you" he says smugly.
"You tire of your own kind, drow?" the halfling asks.
Jarg leans in to Rollo, dagger flashing fast as it jabs the little man in the ribs under the table. "Yes I have been gone a while, now I am here. DO NOT EVER TALK TO ME LIKE THAT EVER? YOU UNDERSTAND,lotha waeles = little idiot? Lest you die slowly and painful, fool. NOw what news have you for me of the town and the surroundings?" he says as he jabs his dagger into Rollo's gut without piercing his skin.
Rollo thinks a moment and nods to Jarg.......... "Lately there have been rumours of Giants on the road east of here. Causing trouble for travellers from here to elsewhere, Jarg. Yes I recognise you even in that disguise. Be careful, there are lots of Zhents about." He nods to Jarg and scuttles off into the day.
SO Rollo remember me. Good. It means I am not forgotten in Hluthvar at all. Giants eh? Let me talk to the party about that
Jarg returns to the Inn and awaits the return of the others so he can relay his news to them.

When he gets to the temple, Renad prays and then looks for another cleric there. He sees a middle aged man with the Pelor holly symbol tend the back of the temple. With a smile REnad addresses the cleric:
"Good afternoon father. I guess that you are responsible of the temple, am I right?"
"Yes indeed. I'm Lexter." Says the cleric and as notices Renad's armor and shield continues: "You are an adventurer right?"

"We are from Waterdeep, we are heading to dales."
"FRom Waterdeep!" Says Lextor surprised. "You should be great adventurers to do such long trip. You should pay attention at your way though, there have been soem attacks from giants not far away from here."

Jarg orders a meal and hands the barmaid a few coins then eats. As he eats, Renad comes in and sits with him. "Would you like a meal, Renad? It's on me, friend, enjoy!" Jarg says as he enjoys his food. Summoning the barmaid he hands her more coins and says to her "Bring this man a meal and an ale........ Thanks miss"....
"Renad until the others get here, I heard about some giants causing problems in the area. Do you think our group would like to look into this matter? You have been with them longer than I, so this is why I ask you.".
Jarg sits back smugly

They cause some troubles to the caravans but they avoid get closer to the towns. I think the others will have no problem face them. Inovdil will have the opportunity she wanted to test her new spells and Kel... well he says never no at an encounter. The same goes for Brethana too I guess. As about Thalar he will have no problem kill some giants since they cause problems, he acts like I do in such matters." Renad makes a small pause as his meal comes and then continues:
"What about you Jarg, do you want to join us, or you prefer to stay here? I should warn you that giants are very strong and use to throw big stones that really hurt! I had fought a giant once a few years ago and we almost lost two companions. Of course if these giants are hill giants and will be easier to defeat than the one I have encountered, but we should be very careful and prepare ourselves for the worse. Then with Pelor's favor will try to do our best."
Renad gets a sip of his ale and continues:

Jarg thinks a moment about Renad's question. "Well to be honest, I don't really follow any deity,Renad. I know many do, but I do not, and that is my choice of course. As for Giants yes I will join you as I am quite good with a bow. I never have faced a Giant but then again there are lots of things I have not done or faced before either and I'm still young, so there is never time like the present, right?". JArg sits back and sips his ale. "Ok your on for the next ale, Renad. Fighting a Giant should be interesting. Let's wait for the others and see what we can think of together. Sound good? Maybe we can go disturb Inovidil and ask her opinion?"

My piece of advice is "never interrupt a wizard when he is studying" because you are risking to make him do a mistake and all his work will be useless, he should strart from the beginning. Also if we are speaking about our evoker, you are risking being the end of a lightingbolt! Trust me Jarg, better leave her to her spells."
Sitting more comfortable to his chair, Reand looks directly at Jarg's eyes and says:
"I say that is a good oportunity to speak a little about religion if you want. You said that you don't follow any deity and I respect that, but I think you should my friend. If after our talk you haven't changed your mind, I'll not try to convince you anymore. But it's my duty as cleric at least try." Says Renad with a smile.
"Gods, every god, are beyond us and our desires. They can understand our inner thoughts and lead us to life. Faith can help you overpass your difficulties and problems, how many times you evoked a god to save or help you. Humans, and I bet elves too, need often a spiritual guide who is able to speak to them about deities and the benefit everyone gets from them. I can talk to you about Pelor, he is a good god of course, he is the god of the sun, it's called also the Shining One. He is the creator of many good things a supporter of those in need and adversary of all that is evil. I'm proud to be his cleric. Of course there are many other deities, if you are interested, i can talk to you about them and you can choose the one who fits you better."

Jarg has a pained look on his face as he speaks to Renad "Well, Renad where I come from, we are doctrinated from the time we can walk. And we live it every day. Day in and day out. This is one of the reasons why I left my home and have never looked back. I thank you for your concern about deities but I have had enough of that to last me many years. Who knows, maybe later on in my life, I may change my mind. But for now I chose not to worship any.

"I Come from a far forest from here way to the east called Aerilpar Forest near the Great Sea and the Golden Water, a small tribe there" he gets a farway look as he thinks about his "real" home, then goes on " How about we go for a walk and converse more and see the town until supper. By then the others should be back and we can talk about the Giants then." He goves Renad the name of some long lost neutral Elf god and leaves it at that. Getting up he waits for Renad and goes out into the town with him.
"I see" says Reand as he stands up, "I have only heard the god you have said. I know it's not as tended to good as Pelor, maybe that's why you are obligated to worship him. Ok my friend lets go out I'll show you a weaponsmith I met, you can get some more arrows for your bow there. You are going to need it if we face the giants."
At the supper time Jarg and Reand come back. The cleric offers an ale to the drow as they wait the others. Soon the door opens wide and Kel comes in with a big smile at his face, the others follow him. A moment later Inovidil joins them. The witch is tired but happy.
"I guess the practice goes well right Kel?" Says Renad as notices the fighter's smile.
"Yeah, it was the best practice ever, I have literally disintegrated Thalar! You should be there Renad poor elf, quite always he was loosing his sword and some times I managed to get him down! Oh, my new tecniques are awsome!"
Renad opens his mouth to say something reasurant to Thalar but he changes his mind, he doesn't want make the proud elf feel worse. Instead of that he turns to Brethana:
"What about you girls? I hope you have done good practice. You might need it soon you know. Both me and Jarg have heard that there are giants not far away from here. What do you say, are we ready for them?"

Elvira looks to Renad then to Brethana and answers "Well at first she was awkward, which is normal, but as the day grew longer she was getting the technique. She is of course not perfect, but she has got the gist of it and I think she'll be really good with them blades." she continues.

"We should get a good night's rest and wait for Inovidil to learn her spells then we can find these Giants and fight them. Oh Brethana can track as well she is quite good at it actually." Thalar smiles as he sits back and sips his ale Yes she has come quite a ways since the first time I met her those months back in Waterdeep. She will make a fine Ranger.
Brethana eats her meal in silence, content to listen to the conversation and hear about Giants. "Tomorrow I think I'd like to walk around here and get to see the sights, Elvira, maybe we can go together?" she says after finishing her meal.
