Inovidil studies Delthrin for a moment, she expected worse from a necromancer actually, maybe to wear necklace of bones or else... The man seemed pretty normal, just tired and of course he liked the dark, wet rooms.

Inovidil doesn't cut in Rardi, the dwarf has gotten directly to the point.

But soon after Dalthrin's answer she says:

"I'm sorry sir, our superiors have told us that you except of helping the city the days after the fire, you have also gotten a woman's body. May I ask, what you did with that and who was that woman? Did you know her"

"From what I heard from me superior, you recovered the deceased body 'o' yer lady friend. Maybe they was mistaken? I dunno why'd they give me some erratic infermation. No matter. Given your occupation we finded it odd, is all."

Archedius's face contorts into a snear and his teeth become exposed, "Yes... a description would be fine."

He begins to ask for specific details about Fortis.

Blackpillars-

Delthrin replies to Inovidil,

''I volunteered to remove a number of bodies last week. Several were women. Perhaps you could be more specific.''

To Rardi

'' 'Given my occupation'? What is that supposed to mean?''

Upstairs at the Palace...

He begins to ask for specific details about Fortis.

The madam describes Fortis as an older gentleman, strongly built, with gray hair and a short beard. She adds-

''I feel like I've seen him someplace else before, not here, I mean. I just cannot put my finger on it.''

She gets to her feet the help of her assistant. Once she's upright, she asks Archideus-

''Is there anything else I can do for the Watch today? Maybe your lads want to sample the house services, hey? I give a discount for watchmen, you know.''

Alain stands up makes his way to the door. "No, madam. No thank you. I should, er, we should probably be leaving. I noticed our friend did not follow us upstairs."

Shana continues to circulate through the room, chatting, trying to discover if any girl is missing, if any regular customers don't show any more, and what is so scary about working the streets... any disappearances lately?

"Milady, I'm afraid that even with the discount, I'd still be paying triple what my friend here would have to, on account of my rugged good looks."

Archedius flashes his teeth again and as he turns gives Alain a look of relief for being able to leave.

''Multiple murder victims, and all of them beheaded? I would imagine you have a madman on your hands, probably one with an axe. ''

Delthrin shifts in his chair, leaning forward so that his eyes are nearly on a level with Rardi's.

''Now, I believe I have answered enough questions about headless bodies for one day. ''

Delthrin stands.

''Well now, I understand tea is on the way. Far be it from me to eject guests into the damp and cold without even a warm cup to cheer their spirits. Will you be staying for a little while, then?''

Palace of Celestial Delights-

Shana learns that at least a few of the prostitutes working here began their careers walking the streets and canalside walkways of the city. The work out there is dangerous, because some clients get rough, and the bawdy men who provide 'protection' are not always near enough to aid a girl in trouble. Also, many of these pimps sound like they are nasty characters themselves, often just as bad as the rougher sort of clients.

Disappearences amongst these women aren't unheard of, but the brothel life is safer and more predictable than that of the out-of-door girls. Everyone is wondering what happened to Nell Wynnet [the young woman missing from this place]. No one seems to know what really happened to her, though.

Shana has just finished a conversation with one of the girls when she sees Archideus and Alain coming down the stairs, their own interview with Madam Tressik apparently having ended.

''Of course, I understand.''

The tea arrives just a moment after Delthrin speaks, on a fine porcelain service carried by the old servant.

Delthrin takes a cup and sips it as he reseats himself.
