'' That looks like a wild pig, Sara. Your idea is good- but I don't know if any of us really have the talent with wild animals to coax him along and keep him quiet. Huhmm..it looks like he is leaving. ''
Dalorna cleans her bloody club on some leaves.
''Besides, I've just thought of something else we can use for a distraction. Just let me find my turnip...''

Isidar grabs Ovina’s reigns and rubs the mule’s muzzle to calm her down. Then she wipes her warhammer in the grass to clean it off and replaces it in her belt loop. She moves closer to Delorna, pulling Ovina along behind her. “Do not fret, Delorna, I doubt that those monkey-men would mourn over your death. You did well in torst and protected your companions. You have honored your family today. Be proud.” She turns to Arnulf, "You have honored your family as well. You have proven yourself to be a samman and I am glad to fight by your side.” She then grabs the metal nets and loads them onto Ovina.
RuthRogan, RuthRogan, she's as strong as a fightin' man!

''Thank you, Isidar.''
Dalorna pulls a fat turnip from her bag, and then answers Sara-
''I'm going to use this turnip.''
She sniffs the ruddy vegetable.
''Good, good, it's still fresh!''

The Professor returns Alia's attendance with a caring smile. "My thanks dear child. You do an old man much honor. Perhaps we had best be on our guard. That incident no doubt raised quite a racket, and I would be quite surprised if we did not call more of these creatures upon ourselves."kintire wrote:Alia carefully brushes the professor's back, removing the signs of his fall from his clothes and straightening his garments back to their proper position, then stand attentively with crossbow ready
He looks to the rest of the group before adding, "My thanks extends to the rest of you as well. There is no need for me to point out that I am quite weak and limited physically due to my present condition. Many thanks for the protection you have been able to provide."

''Right- I'm just glad you weren't hurt, Professor. Now, as you say, others may have heard this fight. We should probably get moving, don't you agree? If we stay put, we might be swarmed.''
Dalorna very briefly looks over the fallen monkey-men as she is speaking. If she sees anything unusual ( besides the nets, which Isidar has already gathered), she might grab it for later inspection. She's not wasting time. As soon as the others are ready to move, she sets off for the the monkey-man village.

Arnulf is ready to follow Dalorna. Turning to the Professor and Alia he says. "Keep close to Alia, sir. This should be fun," he exclaims with eagerness
and inexperience. Having seen others wipe off their weapons, Arnulf takes a piece of cloth form his bag and using his spit, cleans as best he can his both
weapons, unsure of the reason why. Once done, he follows.
The youth keeps a close eye on his sister as he walks, he doesn't know what
he would do if anything happened to her.

Sara leads the group near the village and points them the trees where she has seen the guards. Then is low voice says:
"So what is the plan? What kind of distraction you will use so I can try to sneak in and free the children?"

''I think we should set small fires at one end of the village, and Sara can sneak in from a different direction. We want a lot of smoke, but not a huge blaze. The woods aren't especially dry, so I don't think the little fires will rage out of control- but the monkey-men will almost certainly send some their number to investigate. If you live in trees, unexpected fires near your home are going to freak you out, right? Now, if anyone has a few tinder-twigs and a flask of lamp oil, that would be perfect- if not, I can make do with a candle and some other flammables.''
She sets the turnip on the ground at her feet.
''Oh, and the turnip can set the fires for us- it's so small, I doubt they will notice it walking about...''
Dalorna moves her hands through the air above the vegetable, chanting in a spidery language. The tuber's ruddy surface quickly develops black spots of decay. Thorny tendrils sprout from the now-putrid vegetable. The turnip-thing crawls closer to Dalorna, fibrous appendages groping through the mouldering ground cover.
''A little practical necromancy- it obeys my will.''

Sara's eyes go wide when saw the turnip transform!
"What is that? It's unbelievable!"
Sara kneels and gets a closer look of the turnip without touch it of course.
"Unbelievable!"
After a couple of seconds she stands up and says:
"Well if you can control this turnip and light it from distance will be helpful and your idea with the fire and the smoke is brilliant. Just need to be careful to control the fire. I think we need fresh leaves to make smoke and we need to make sure that goes towards the village, so need to pay attention where light the fire."
Sara looks one more time the turnip.
"Unbelievable!"

Dalorna smiles.
''I'm glad you like it, Sara. It is now an undead turnip. Don't worry, Arnulf, it isn't dangerous. It is useful, though. ''
