Shana looks after Moorkroft with a look of exasperated contempt, then smiles warmly at Blaise and gives him a hug.

"Yes, lets do that! Someone's got to stand by our friends, even if the drones won't. Lets see how much time we have, and then decide how to use it."

Fishgut Rock gaol-house

A stranger enters Rardi's cell: a tall beardless human male who wears the rose robes of a Lathanderite cleric of some rank [a dawnlord, it would seem].

The guards hang back, but do not leave Rardi alone with her fellow cleric.

''Well met, Rardi Silverhelm, fellow servant of Lathander. I am Thumast Alfane, and I've come to help you as I may. ''

The man smiles warmly and takes a seat. He looks about, taking in the details:clean room, a wooden bathtub, a little table, a cot with blankets, and two chairs.
''I see that they have given you decent accomodations, at least.''

Ino's cell-

There's a commotion at the door to Ino's cell. An argument of some kind is taking place. Ino recognizes one of the voices as belonging to Watch Captain Rask!

''I've got the written orders right here in my hand, damn you! Now stand aside.''

The door is opened a moment later, and Watch-Captain Rask enters Ino's cell. He's clad in his impeccably clean uniform. His hair seems to have really gone gray of late, and he's got bags under his eyes.

''Inovidil, you look wretched. Have you slept? Bathed?''

"Yeah I be in a good room, better n tha lass one. I on'y wanna make sure Inovidil goes free, I din really care bout meself. I knows I done tha right thing an noone should be allowed ta call a Kyton or summon one in their 'ome, which is what Delthrin done. There be laws fer that I be sure."

"Well now!" says Blaise, surprised but pleased at the embrace. "Yes, let's go to the militia headquarters -- you can stay outside, if you'd prefer. Rask or someone else who's experienced in these things should be able to give us an idea of how much time there is to act."

And with that, Blaise heads off, presumably with Shana.

''Well....actually, no. Delthrin seems to have stayed inside the letter of the law, Rardi. It's not illegal in Cormyr to summon such vile beings. It is, of course, illegal to send them to work harm against the innocent or commit other crimes. With no proof of anything more than some sort of wizard's home defense trap that calls up a devil...well, he wasn't breaking the law. He'd be responsible if the devil got loose and worked mischief- but only if it actually had escaped and had caused harm afterward. It's a bad law, I know. Believe me, I've long argued that the laws regarding both animation of the dead and conjuration of fiends need to be changed. Both things ought to be utterly illegal! ''

Blaise enters the street to find an unusually bright and sunny day. Streetsweepers and dung collectors are hard at work, cleaning up the town.

Shana follows Blaise, not forgetting to tell the inn where she's going in case the temple sends a message

Nelly, back at work again, takes the message.

''Right, Mistress Shana, I'll tell the priests you've gone down to the big watch-house.''

Outside, Shana easily catches up with Blaise.

Shrenan Brothers Smithy

Threan gets out of bed, having enjoyed a good night's sleep with a clear conscience. After his performing morning hygiene, getting dressed, etc- he goes about the shop to see how Glimzine and the other gnomes are faring.

Glim is hard at work on repairing Inovidil's spellbook.

The workers are unpacking a shipment of metal ingots.

The security-gnomes report no unusual activity.

The Old Shell

Alain sits in what one might describe as a stunned silence as his friends go to town on each other, tearing apart bridges verbally and without any regard for the bonds they have built in the past. His jaw has gone slack and he is without the means to stand up and speak to save the few from themselves. His eyes go from one member of the party to the other as his brow furrows in disbelief.

When the crescendo hits and Jamethon leaves the room, he watches him go, as if in slow motion and after he is gone, the memory replays itself over an over in an instant as he see's an alliance build between Blaise and Shana.

He watches the two walk off, apparently to speak with the watch captain and he feels the emptiness of the inn flood in on him like the sea rushing into a submerged ship. He wants to scream.

Never before had he felt so isolated. He couldn't possibly choose a side without further widening the gap between his friends.
But then again, their was another option.

He let the idea swim around in his head for about a quarter of an hour before he rose from his seat and set himself to the task. He almost felt pride at the idea. After all, the best way to figure out what Threan is up to would be to ally with him. Besides, Alain had the sneaking suspicion the he wasn't up to anything at all. Granted, he had not been there and seen what everyone else had seen, but Threan was no Lodissio. He felt it was apparent there was a conflict of personal politics which got in the way of seeing a mission completed. In the heat of battle and stress it is entirely common.

After his personal internalized self pep talk, Alain then sought out Threan the notorious or perhaps Threan the misunderstood.

Alain-

The walk is pleasant enough- blue skies overhead, warm weather, even singing birds nesting in the eaves of some of the houses. During his walk the bard sees men at work cleaning up debris, painting over scorch marks, etc.

After less than an hour of walking, Alain reaches the lowbuilt smithy and shop, with its solid-looking doors and narrow windows. A sign out front proclaims:

SHRENAN BROTHERS' SMITHY

and bears the emblem of a crooked dagger.

Well, this must be it... The bard thinks to himself. He walks through the front door, looking to and fro at the wares displayed and smiling politely to anyone who happens to look in his direction.

(Assuming there is a counter...)

Alain approaches the counter.

Alain approaches the counter.
Behind the counter sits a small person- a gnome. This one isn't Threan. The gnome asks-

''How might I help you?''

The shop is well stocked with various weapons: swords, axes, knives [lots of knives]. The windows are barred on the inside. The door to the rear of the showroom is reinforced with iron bands. A couple of gnomes move about the shop, dusting the shelves.

Alain smiles and says hello. When asked as to how he can be helped, he replies, "I am looking for Threan. I was told he may be found here. My name is Alain Guischard. He will know who I am."
