Draven nods at Williams words, even if you were inhabited by a malevolent enitiy hellbent on death and destruction, there was much to be said for good food, cool ale and a warm bed.
Still paranoia was easy to come by for Draven and he resolves to keep his wits about him. Drawing his cloak tighter he follows William inside.

"I had a dream, which was not all a dream.
The bright sun was extinguish'd, and the stars
Did wander darkling in the eternal space..."

Lucius follows quietly and attentively. He couldn't shrug off the feeling that it's the ones that seem to be pleasant one must be more careful about. He had seen many intrigues and betrayals at such a peaceful place as the University, how could he be certain that those would not happen in a land he didn't know?
Always doubt those who try to throw down your defenses, he thought.

Cornelius looks about. He examines the Inn itself, looking at the walls, floors, ceiling, etc.
On the way to the room, he addresses his fellow the other arcanists; Van, Lucius, and Jacob,
''Think we can have a proper wizards' moot, once we get settled in? ''

Delight is to him- a far, far upward, and inward delight- who against the proud gods and commodores of this earth, ever stands forth his own inexorable self.

Lucius smiles, evoking in his mind how many times before he and the other mages had tried for a quiet evening when they could change their knowledge... always with no success.
"Sure, I do hope so " he smiled.

Jacob acknowledges Cornelius Lucius and Van's idea with a smile. "Sure we can convene in my room. Meet me there in ten minutes. Just enough time to settle in and inspect the facilities."
Tarlyn looks at William and Draven. "What if we look around this Inn discreetly later? Just to get our bearings and see what the town of Kuhl holds for us. What say you?"

Cornelius putters off to his chamber, humming happilly to himself.
When he gets to his room, he begins to unpack some of his kit, including his grimoire and notebooks. He opens his window to let some sunlight in and set his rock lizard on the sill. The animal adjusts its position a bit, then settles in to soak up the warm sunlight. Cornelius takes off his boots and plops himself on the bed, his back resting against the headboard.
A little rest, then I'll join the other mages....

"Now that sounds like a great idea, the drink that is. But i see yer point. A quick look about would only give us an easier bearing. Then come the pints."lostboy wrote:Draven looks up at Tarlyn "Considering the day Ive had Id rather examine the bottom of tankard or five, but I suppose a look around is a good idea. Im in."
TArlyn looks at William and grins "I guess a little wine couldn't do any harm! Let's look around then the drinks are on me."
You put away your belongings and head out of the Inn. The sun is low and people look to be hurrying to get home or to their destination. In the distance a wolf howls, which is immediately answered by another, then another and another. The count is lost as to how many there are but they howl then it stops. Any people who were still out and about now hurry faster than the people before them. As the sun begins to set, and the moon becomes prominent in the Kartakan sky, once again the howls can be heard from the deep forest, but closer.
"I think these people are wise. We should perhaps scout quickly then head back to the safety of the Whistling Tree, guys."
It doesn't take long and you attest to the fact that the town is deserted and it has become very quiet. You can hear your own breaths and the sounds of doors slamming and bolts being slid across doors. The howls start again and this time from a closer vicininty.
"Let's get back now, I don't relish the thought of facing wolves, especially Kartakan ones."

Jacob accepts Van, Lucius and Cornelius into his room. "Welcome. Sit around the bed or in a chair. So, where to begin? WHat made you decide to study the art of magic, divine or arcane?"

Cornelius answers-
''My father instructed me in craft of wizardy, starting at a young age. It's a family trade for us.''
