Realms of Dread IC, Chapter One
"So do we wait for her or we leave? I dun know 'er all that well. I am s'posin she kin take care 'o' herself. It's up to you. Either way, we should head to where they brought that man. We should ask 'im some questions. If yer up to it, mebbe we kin play a lil game with him. Ye kin be the good man an I kin be the baddie. Sound good?"
Pausing she thinks some more before adding "So did yer find any infermation of interest above asides some female companionship?," she says with a wink. "I spoke ta two men. One was as kin be expected in
that type of establishment, drunk. The other not so much as to be frightened to the point of leaving with his pal when I got to askin bout Delthrin. I 'ope the others gained some useful infermation."

Archedius hears the masses within his chest and torso move as the scar on his chest begins to burn in a familiar way. 'Like is attracted to like' he thinks to himself as he lets his hand fall away from the sword.
Allowing his limp to return, he grimaces as he reaches down for the teapot and pours out a cup from the service. 'Knight be praised that the thing is veiled.' He does his best to project a calm aura. If this IS an undead child...it may not know as such and it might react violently if confronted.
"I had a daughter once. I didn't get to see her grow up. She was killed when a city called Bloodstone Pass was attacked many years ago...she loved to wear blue. Your dress reminded me of her." he lets his voice trail off.
"May I ask if Deltherin is your father?" He steps towards the thing, revulsion, or something more tangible, rising in his gut and extends the tea cup and saucer towards it. "I won't hurt you, have some tea." ...and waits for some sort of response.

Inovidil listens carefully the women talk, nothing particular she gets from their conversation though. She is actually surprised Delthrin has visited a place like this. But since he said that he wanted to return to check on something, Ino understands that something important was there. She just shrugs her shoulders and follows Delthrin, she wants to be sure that he will head to his house.

As the Madam seems deeply aslepp, Shana leans carefully over her and examines the key. If it seems at all practical, she will try to carefully lift it from the Madam's sleeping form. If successful, she will open the safe and lift the books, letters and sacks, wrapping them in her green claok, and slipping out of the room

The Palace of Celestial Delights:
Blaise says softly to Rardi, "Oh, I can do games quite well. I'd like that. As for Shana, yes, she's very good at taking care of herself - and she's probably trying to coax more information from the madam, anyway. Let's not interrupt. As for my successful interrogation, it sounds like it was more fun than yours! Yes, they know of Fortis and that he frequently visited Nell ... but that's all. They said they'd send word to me if he reappears." After a last glance upstairs on the odd chance of spotting Shana, Blaise says to Rardi, "Let's go, m'dear."

"Awright we go see this criminal first, then head back to tha pub for the others."
Rardi and Blaise head for the guardhouse where the man was taken. "I noticed that some of you aren't from 'roun 'ere. I mean natives of Faerun. Where ye be from if ye don' mind me pryin. I be from Damara as is Archedius. We served together in the army there."

"That's a difficult question," says Blaise, a bemused expression on his face. "Our land is quite a bit smaller than Faerun, that's for sure, and not as ... what's the right word? ... colorful. Knowledge, especially arcane knowledge, was much more restrictive, and we prayed to our gods as you do here, yet their actions were more mysterious, while -- based on what I've read in the historical tomes -- your gods have sometimes made their presence VERY clearly known!"
His tone gets a little darker. "Actually, the fact that one of our gods did make her presence known is what led to our coming here. It was a terrifying event." He pauses for a moment before continuing. "I grew up in a region called Darkon. And -- this may shock you -- I was a priest, a minor one, in the service of Ezra, a goddess who sacrificed much to protect us from the forces of darkness. Or so I believed." Another pause. "Yes, our encounter with Ezra led to many disturbing sights... and our arrival. The others may have different viewpoints, but I'm delighted to be here -- the wealth of knowledge and the variety of people are breathtaking!"

in Madam's Room
As she makes for the door, Madam's snoring suddenly stops. Shana hears the woman mumble somthing. The bedframe frame groans in protest as the heavy body shifts position. The snoring resumes. Looking back, Shana can see the fat woman has flipped over on her side, and is yet asleep.
Opening the door just enought to creep through the gap, Shana quietly makes her escape from the room.
With great care, Shana is able to lift the key from off its chain without waking the sleeping woman, who lays there on the matress , snoring loudly. As quietly as she's able, the sorceress pulls the chest out from under the bed, unlocks and open s it, and then takes such items as interest her.kintire wrote:As the Madam seems deeply aslepp, Shana leans carefully over her and examines the key. behind the Militia HQ
Sergeant Talbot tells Alain-
''I'll be here at the headquarters all afternoon and all night. The party will start and hour before sundown, so I'd recommend you act quickly if you want to arrive on time. Well, if that's all, I've got more work to do, inside. I'll let you know if I learn anything that might be useful to you in your case...this headless business.''
With that, unless Alain delays him further , the Sergeant prepares to depart the courtyard and return to his office.

The Old Shell
Ironheart subdues the remaining men.
Moorkoft thanks him for his help.
Jamethon waves a hand at the pile of bound men who lie on the ground before he and Ironheart.
''Well, I doubt that any of these lot will threaten militiamen again....ummm, what do we do with them now? Should we take them to gaol?''
The old widow who runs the eating house and inn now walks the floor, picking up smashed crockery and generally trying to retore some semblance of order. One of her younger sons, who steers clear of Ironheart, helps her to clean. As she works, she mutters and curses:
''Damnation....hellfire... my good plates....menfolk and their these stupid quarrels over such silly business...bah, what recks it to us honest Marsember-folk who will sit on the big chair in Suzail?''

Not that he was a merciful character, but maybe his new "employer" might expect that sort of things...

Blackpillars-
The little girl in the blue dress and veil doesn't answer Delthrin's question with any intelligible language. Instead, she just titters again. The spidery sound might be laughter or it might be something else enitrely. She seems to understand at least a little of what Archedius has said or else can read his gestures, for she takes the cup from him with a fast snatching motion of her tiny pallid hands [which are fully human in appearance] With her right hand she carries the cup upward and under the veil, which she lifts just a bit with her other hand. The veil doesn't come up high enough for Delthrin to see her face, only a flash of white skin near her collar. Tea dribbles down the front of the blue dress. The noises the girl makes while drinking don't sound like something that would come from the ordinary operation of a human mouth, but sound more like fluid being slurped through a straw.Archedius wrote:Archedius hears the masses within his chest and torso move as the scar on his chest begins to burn in a familiar way. Following Delthrin, Ino can see that he is indeed bound for his house. He pays a skiff-man to ferry him there, giving the directions verbally.VAN wrote:Inovidil listens carefully the women talk, nothing particular she gets from their conversation though. Drfiting along inivisbly behind the skiff, Ino follows as the boat glides down the canal and towards Fishgut Rock.

Outside the Palace of Celestial Delights-
Rardi and Blaise walk down the narrow street. Shana is not with them. The two head for the militia house, which doubles as a gaol for the city. The walk will take at least thirty minutes. Taking a canal boat might be a little faster, but then again, maybe not. At least it isn't raining just now- though the early afternoon sky is gray and heavy with clouds.
